357 mag rifle

Post by Henry357158 »

Just got a Henry 357 carbine and can see it’s more powerful than I thought but not hunted with it yet. Who has real world experience with this rifle set up?

I have hunted with my Marlin 1894C (1980 vintage) in .357-Mag. Used it deer hunting a couple of times but did not connect with a deer. I have shot 158 to 170 grain bullets in this rifle (all copper jacketed soft-point), very accurate. I have complete confidence in it's ability to take a deer at 100 yards. Have also owned a Henry Big Boy Steel in .357-Mag, nice gun, but like the Marlin better... :)

I never saw the need for a 357 rifle till I got one. I now have 3. Marlin CBx24, C and CP. Fun and cheap to shoot. I've taken only 1 wtd with mine........worked just fine.

Tom F have you got one of the new marlins? I saw some the other day and they really looked good! I hope Marlin is finally back.
