It hurts a bit. But its all good

Post by Muddly »

My 99 .30-30 is back with its original owner's family.
I got a call from the shop I bought it from saying the family wanted to speak to me about the rifle. Apparently if was mistakenly sold and they wanted to see if I would accept an offer.
I had installed a superb Redfield 70 ( thanks again Sixgun) so it wasn't original anymore. Didn't matter.
I'm very sentimental. Couldn't refuse.
Sooo. Bye bye 99. Be well.
In its place, the gun shop's owner gave me a great deal on a nearly NIB 1987 production Remington 7600 .30-06.
Good rifle. Spooky accurate with .300 Savage class reloads using leftover .30 cal flat point/ round noses.

That was a very nice thing to do!!

I was able to buy back one of my prized possessions this summer. A custom Ruger Old Model Super Blackhawk that was sold off while I was very ill and not expected to make it. I found it at a show where part of my collection had been sold almost three years ago. I thanked the man profusely for taking such good care of it and bought it back. It has rarely been out of my sight sense.

You've got some good karma coming your way for returning the gun to it's family! Nicely done!
