Dang! I go out and cut the grass.....well..cut some swamp too......come back, and Gunny's buying a Winchester...(what Winchester Gunny?).....Griff is reminiscing about having sex.....and "Mr Sex" Old Savage is picture taking...street cars? No front fenders? Legal?!!??.

Old Savage is also on a winning streak...TWO in a row!!!!!! We have to gift him something....mmmmmm......mmmmmm........
Would you be happy with Pitchy's Egyptian plumb bob? Possibly Pitchy's old style drill bits? Or maybe both of them? If so, we will get Pitchy moving on this and get em packaged up for ya. Maybe Gunny can throw in a couple of his carpenter pencils.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a high of 87 with LESS humidity.....my ears are ringing so bad I'm soon to be in some kind of an asylum.....---6

I'm not gonna say what model until I go see it. Not sure if I'm gonna buy it or not...

Baby picture? Did you hit Attach or did the mods pull it?

When I left Strausstown yesterday it was 97-99 by the thermometer in the truck. Was a battle for the AC to actually cool off - new AC don't work as well as the older refrigerants.

Yea....looks good out there today Gunny......lots cooler.....might even head to the club tomorrow.......

Gunny...your just a kid at 49....First vehicle I ever had with AC was my 2005 Jeep. Never even had it in the house until around the eighties and that was a window unit. The high seer number heat pump we have now will make the house so cool you can freeze a T-bone if you so would wish.

Yea....the mods righteously deleted my baby pic. It was funny.----6

By the way, we have a new prize to give away...Pitchy's new drum sander.....

Just a couple pics for now.

20190708_121724-600x800.jpg
20190708_121736-800x600.jpg
Winchester model 23, 28" M/F. Listed as LNIB but I believe it has not been fired- YET! No signs of carbon around firing pin holes, no scratches on breech face, no wear on recoil pad.
Yes it's a Japanese gun but that doesn't bother me. If I could afford a model 21 I'd have bought a 21.

Oh man......I'm excited...new gifts to give out!

Model 23's ain't nothin' to sneeze at Gunny....if I remember they were made some years ago and only for a short time. Yes, a shotgun guy needs the best. Jays right....I feel humbled to be on the same post as you Gunny......must feel great to be at the top of the pecking order. For real..no bs.....true shotgun guys will spend all their money on the best and classiest shotgun money can buy....I have an acquaintance who dumped 10 big ones on a custom fit Krieghoff ...25 years ago...

Pitchy's shotgun ain't nothing to sneeze at either....looks like a gun some ww2 soldier brought home .....nice wood to metal fit. THAT is a high quality shotgun.....note the perfectly timed screws and the screw lockers...fine line engraving, cocking indicators, I think we will save that as a prize for post # 5,000 ....might as get her all wrapped up Pitchy.....of course, you can shoot it a few more times, but clean it up real nice and use low brass ammo. :D .....6

On another note, money is becoming worthless....just came back from the feed store..2 50lb bags of horse feed, bag of cat litter, 2 fly traps..(the kind you fill up with water)....a plastic rain gauge and two cokes...$105
Ready?....one, two, three, LAUGH!

The 23 doesn't hold a candle to a 21 as far as the collectors go. Of course the 21s were made here by hand, the 23s were jap manufacturing. Would I like a 21 trap gun-sure but I'm not paying for one.
However I shoot a Perazzi , I have 2 MX8s, entry level , yeah they are pricey, got mine used but the user can replace springs , firing pins with minimal tools in a matter of minutes! In international trap if your gun breaks you are given 15 minutes to make repairs. Most of us have 2 guns so the down time to fix can be done when you aren't shooting.

Yes I like pretty wood, engraving but I'd be just as happy with plain jane as long as it fits me! But if they are pretty all the better!

Yes Six that 16 of Pitchys is a higher grade gun for sure. True side plates, engraving and higher grade wood are hallmarks of quality. Tell ya what , since OldWin gets Pitchy's Colt 44 special I claim DIBS on the shotgun!! :D

I never knew an outside company made Ithaca double guns....that's not an Ithaca action.....wait...I see now SKB....sixties guns I think......because your Ithaca is not as valuable as your pre war German double barrel, we will make that a prize for first poster on page 88...OK with you Pitchy? Let's see some more guns.....Gunny and Jay got dibs and I want dibs too....so does Griff, Old Savage, and Fordwannabe. I always seem to wind up in last place.

Jays always bragging about driving your old John Deere all over town saying how nice it runs.

Saw this on You Tube the other day...that's not a buffing wheel made from cloth.......it's a wood wheel........so I cut out a piece of sugar maple, trued it up and added some polishing compound (white).

Nice gun Pitchy!! Ok I got DIBS on the 20- Six can have the 16!
One of my Perazzi's is an Ithaca import. Serial number has it as a 1971 gun. Color case receiver and the ugliest blond wood you could imagine! I'm going to restock itat some point.

I could see a wood wheel working very well! It doesn't flex like a Muslim wheel would.

Tom....You want a 45-90?...I got two....both are extra lightweights...a configuration that was only offered for the 45-70 or the .33...any other caliber is an "in house" special order....you had to know somebody.

I'll see one, preferably the full mag takedown that has 132 notches very tastefully done on the wood.....they are pretty much worn smooth. Come on over with some green! I'm headed to the gunclub tomorrow for some .308 blasting with the m1A------6

Nice shotguns, guys.
I like the 16, Pitchy. That's my favorite guage.
I'm not much of a shotgun guy. I have an old 26" Saresquetta (spelling?) and a Wards Hercules 28" for 16 doubles. An early model 12 and a Savage Fox in 20ga., an 1887 in 12ga, and a mixed bunch of singles, and pumps.

Tom, you into 45-90? I have an early 86 rifle chambered in it. Never fired it. I like 86's like everyone else but just don't use them. I think the later lightweights are the way to go. Don't use my 71 either. :?

Tom yes, I get off the interstate at Strausstown, go south to Bernville. Just started shooting ZZ birds out there on a private farm. It's by invitation but I've known the guy for many years.

So you don't use your 71 eh? To quote Sixgun 'can I have it?' :D

Gunny, when I wrote that last night I was sitting in Strausstown. My wife works at the urgent care as soon as you get off 78. In Bernville you are 15 minutes from my house. My library card is for the Bernville library. When you make it this way again let me know and I’ll buy ya lunch.
Jay, I also have a lite weight in 33wcf was my first 1886. I could always use another if you’re not using yours😉my Maine brotha.

Jay I am not like those other two I wouldn’t want you to GIVE me a gun that just wouldn’t be right. I did live in Maine though and picked up a little yankee so I would want a deal. I know just to be good to you I’ll give ya a whole new $100 bill for it. I know I am a giver. No need to thank me for my generosity. Heck I’ll even pay the shipping(if you include some empty cases).

You already have the most useable 86 IMO. I think the 33 is one of the better chamberings too.

A 100 dollars?
I've heard of those bills, but I've never seen one. That IS generous. I only paid 12 dollars for the rifle. :D

Well I almost had to shoot in anger just now. I had gone down the street to my buddies house for a little show & tell and some Tin Cup whiskey.
I showed off the new model 23 as he is a gun guy too. We are sitting there shootin the shyt and my next door neighbor calls me, says Abby their west highland white terrier is nose to nose with a bear! I'll be right there! Grab my shotgun jump in the truck and fly back down the road. Pull into their yard , shuck the case off the gun grabbing some target loads and head for the bear. Yeah I know only 7 & narfs but that's what I had on hand!
As I got closer the bear decided that maybe someplace different would be a good idea . As I pushed the bear away Abby was right behind it about 10 yards. When she saw me she decided I had things under control and ran for the house. These bears have NO fear!!

Geeze.....I spend the day at the gunclub and Gunny is wrestling with bears! You da man!..........you were in Bernville? On 183? Center of "town" by Bernville Auto Parts? I go through there half dozen times a year up to my buds acreage in Hecksnersville, just north of Minersvile. ...sheeeeeeeeeeeiiiittttt .....what's a Jersey boy like you doing in redneck territory?.....and that's REAL redneck territory...........hope the little dog is OK.

Yea....did something did not make any sense......took a very (I thought it was) inaccurate .308 Remington heavy barrel with a 40x trigger out of the mag pull stock and put it in a 1970's wood stock and put a cheapie 4-14 Nikon scope on it. Largest 3 shot group with 168 Hornady's AT 500 METERS.....was 3".....There was no wind which helped......The BAR is gonna take a break at the next long range match. Don't make any sense.....those plastic mag pull stocks are supposed to be the best. Keep in mind I don't shoot 30 or 40 rounds......it was previously tested with 350 rounds and another 60 today.

Now...Next phenomenon......the M1A.......today I was shooting 155 Palma Match bullets with a mess of H380.....4" at 200 meters and 2-3 MOA out to 500.....j-u-n-k......So......I had 50 rounds of .308 military ball ammo dated 1969 that I took from a M-60 machine gun belt.......yea......junk Vietnam era ammo 50 years old shot NEAR MOA out to 500.---6

Tom...I'm getting cash poor....Wadda want?

Must be related to the knock down drag out fight by the family at Disney the other day... yup animals.

Yes Abby is just fine. She kept her distance while the bear was eating peanuts from the squirrel feeder. I keep telling them to raise the feeders so they are out of reach, but they dont listen to experience!

I took some firecrackers and bottle rockets over with instructions to light fuses at first sight of bears.

Ha! A Polish calculator! I got a million Polack jokes......one time, not so far in the distant past, I asked a knowledable person why Polish people always get "stupid jokes" thrown on them as the genetic make up between Polish and German people is pretty much the same. I was told it's because the Germans spoke English and the Polish did not or did not care to. I do know the reason I'm here today is because my mother spoke both languages.

Gunny...is that the same Bernville I was speaking of that you were?

I'd say yes it's the same Bernville... Can't see there could be more than one in the state.

Old Savage.............your target...44 Spl.?

Ya know, I was thinking.......California is costing our federal government too much money with the fires, earthquakes, etc. ..not to mention there's probably only 27 people with jobs there...yea...Fred's one of those good people.....maybe the next quake will break the state off into the Pacific........but hopefully, Fred and the other 26 people will be ok......Fred...ya better send me that 44 Spl. for safekeeping.

Is that Pitchy on the motorcycle? I noticed there is a 1.75 hanging off the gas tank.

This thread is as strong as it's ever been......pushing 100 pages........I was thinking that the winner on page 100 will win Blaines new three wheeled motorcycle as Old Savage won Pitchy's side car. ---6
