121, an engine position sensor. Cummins has one, shop sent parts runner for it, she broke down. Some days, it just don't seem worth gettin' outta bed!

Oh Guuuunnnnnnyyyyy.......once again, a page was won by a junior NCO.......I don't like dis......

Well, OK....Griff won.....I think he is practicing for the BIG WIN for page 100.

Old Savage is having headaches with his garage door. Geeze, a motorized garage door...we don't have those things yet on the East Coast. Battery dead? In summertime? Fred, I must have six batteries around here and most of them are in working order. Stop over and we will fix ya up....(bring some soft stuff)

Ha! I was reading where Jeffery Epstein had this long time woman doing his "procurement work" getting these young gals to service Jeff.....She said Jeffrey needed THREE orgasims A DAY......WTF? This guy was a real whack job. I bet good ole Old Savage would have done a better job at procurement.

I gotta stop this stupid shyt and get ammo loaded..see ya.---6

Well at least it is a fairly easy diagnosis/ fix. All these sensors- I think it's a conspiracy by the manufacturer to suck more money out of the buyer- either the engine is IN position or it's not - duh!

Well so far the rain is a bust, I decided to NOT work since we were supposed to be at flood stage by now. So I took my dear Mother to the chiropractor, he says get on the table and I'll give you a quick adjustment- fine by me! Lots of movement,. My spine sounds like an MG42 !

I've wondered what everybody thinks if us crackpots on this thread too......
Probably much less than they used to! :D

Good luck with the sensor issue, Griff. IDK about big trucks, but it can be a pain on regular vehicles cause one issue can throw a code for something else by creating another issue. Fun.

Wow Gunny! Thats cool about General McAuliffe. Love WW2 history.
I really enjoy talking to very intelligent people. Probably much more than they enjoy talking to me. :D

We'uns on the Garand Thread seem to be pretty well matched. :D

Fred....truly hope the golf swing gets better...it will also help you "swing" with your harem.

On to good ole boys...yep...we are it.....there's nothing magical about being a good ole boy....it's just "saying it like it is" with no worry about what others think. If they don't like it, F em....see ya MF. With the exception of Pitchy and a very few others, I get a kick out of the ones who constantly quote the Bible.....I call them "behind the heater drinkers" which is.....

The church across the street from me, Bethleham United Methodist is full of behind the heater drinkers. They all go to church and praise the Lord and claim to do the right thing.....then when no one is looking they sneak behind the heater and get a drink, then off to the T Bar to get some strange......I hear it all the time.....scandal after scandal....

The Lord can be praised right in your own home. I was raised a Roman Catholic and after seeing what these many Fathers have done, well, I'm done. ---gotta get ammo loaded...---6

Pitchy...what the heck has got into you? Nobody said you "can't post here".......and nobody said anything about you sharing your
Ingenious inventions with others.....that's your business.

But I will disagree with "everyone being equal". Everybody thinks differently....There are people who are just so miserable with their lives they make it unbearable for the ones who love life and are constantly throwing wrenches in the "happy gears" of others. That's why we have the Garand Post where the regulars here do think pretty much alike.

There are more than a few members who feel if someone is living life a little better than they are, they will cause trouble for that guy, twisting what they said into "bad mojo" while the troublemaker will go off skipping and singing away, showing their misguided hypocrisy.

SO THAT's what woke me up down here in NC? :P

The "code" seems to have fixed itself. Now the truck computer sez it doesn't have a code... well... what's that little ticking noise every once in a while? A visit to the truck doc this afternoon is planned, download the ECM and see what that sez...

No, I didn't get the 1885 the rest of the way apart. It, & the little baggie of parts will visit the gun doc shortly.

WOO HOO!!!! I won page 97... maybe that'll help me figure out why the mdl 97 won't feed shotshells from the magazine to the chamber. Seem to get stuck on the carrier. Replaced just about everything inside... paid a '97 "specialist" to fix it... worked for him, doesn't for me. Does that mean it's fixed? New AA LNLR, my "Blue Magic" reloads, nothing... I'd scratch my head, but I'd probably end up pullin' out what hair I have!!!! And it's the only good part of me left! Or so the girls tell me... something about a silver haired devil...

I hear ya Griff....sometimes you have to "sleep" on a problem and it mysteriously fixes itself in the morning. The Black Rose is gonna be around a long time. Take care of it as you know what happens to tractors when they go bad.......yep, you will see a little 5' beaner driving it across the border from south to north.

Funny thing about foreign made guns....no disrespect here.....with all of the advanced technology and knowledge of heat treating, etc, they still break. My only Hi-Wall, a 40-82 made in 1893 has digested close to 4,000 rounds.....and keeps on ticking.

Man...I gotta get these .308's loaded for Saturday's match.----6

Griff , polish the magazine follower, give the spring a little stretch, just a hint of lubrication and give it a try.

You must have really good hearing to hear 'a ticking noise' over that Cummins! I cant hear stuff from mine, but then again the exhaust is under the back of the cab and no muffler!

Six get yer azz down to there and load that ammo so you can go show off your NEW sniper rig and W I N that match!!

Thanks for the encouragement but I don't feel confident anymore. There was a time where I felt like I could beat Lones Wigger in a shooting match. Lost the sharp vision, lost the steady nerves, lost the reaction time, and even though it's benchrest match, we are not allowed to have a back rest so there is still a slight wobble. This can be beaten with an addition to the stock but homey don't play dat game.

This is how that addition works.....a block of wood or solid plastic is attached to the bottom of the forend. This piece is about 6" long and 4" wide and 2-3" thick.....THEN......their benchrest has a female piece that's identical to the part on the rifle. It's DOVETAILED. Then they slide the forend through the dovetail on the benchrest and turn down a crank so it's locked in..tight. That to me is legally cheating but the guys who are at the top do this. ---

I'm working on a post...you will like it.---6

I hear ya Six, I was 13 years old when I won my first match, been winning off & on ever since, I still have my reaction time which is a plus , my eyes are good at distance so that's no problem. I've gotten to where I shoot for fun- I'm serious about it but I have fun at it. Go to the match and have fun!

That sounds like cheating to me, should have to shoot off bags front & rear, that way everyone has the same wobble to deal with!

That's why I don't shoot much rifle, just a PITA making ammo compared to shotgun ammo! Once I get in 'the groove' it's nothing to run 600 an hour on the Dillon SL900. If ya don't have to trim cases rifle is almost painless but still takes a lot of effort as we all know.

Pumpkin spice SPAM ?! Who was the bright spark to think up that!!

Why did it take 8 hours before the Philly police dumped CS into that drug dealing violent criminal multiple arrests thing house? They KNEW who he was, why screw around!! Heck they should have dumped white phosphorous into it!!! I'm very happy the 6 officers are ok!!!

Gunny, as to trimming rifle cases, for a couple years now I have been using the Lee zip trim(I think that’s what they call it) one piece goes in my drill and another either has a ball o(I clamped onto it with a cheap pair of HF vice grips and can really get a grab on it). Each caliber conversion has a spud with a hardened tip and the other end screws into the cutter in my vice grips. I can’t minutely adjust length but as long as the are all the same who the hell cares. Quick easy cheap and consistent. I do it while watching TV.

Yes I've seen those, I got a Badger(I think) trimmer, has the datum set and ya just chuck it in the drill press and go- it was a godsend when trimming military 308 brass, some was .030 long or longer. That was back when the Hildabeast was running and I needed some inventory!

Gunny.....your talented....I like dat moulding job......looks like an uppity customer.....for me I would have just slapped some tar in there......

Did not get the whole story on the Philly fiasco....been at the gun club oday.....YEA, the same gunclub that's 27 miles away that I forgot to bring my newly loaded ammo to.....phuck! Was I upset! I brought cast bullets and military ball ammo which is worthless for the match. THEN, I put in a single round of ball ammo, hit the release on the AR...BANG! slam fire.....the empty came out and hit me sq. between the eyes taking out a circle of skin exactly 30 caliber.....well, it was hanging a bit, blood, etc....case mouth perfect head on. Could have been my fault as it was military brass and may have had a high primer...dunno.

The cops in Philly should have followed Wilson Goode's example when MOVE started their shyt.---6

Ouch! A buddy of mine has a perfect 450 Bushmaster burn on his arm, he wanted to shoot my 450 so he settled in on the bench and squeezed one off. The brass hit my range box, bounced back against his forearm and proceeded to burn his arm as it came to rest.

Yeah Pitchy has me worried, not sure what we are going to do without our fearless leader!

Fortunately I only had to scribe 2 peices into the stone. Naw these people are not uppity, he is a good ol boy like us, hunts& fishes. This is the house I did all the pine ceiling in.

I hear ya Gunny...I wrote on the "Mower Build" page about our dilemma. If Pitchy does leave I have dibs on the front row parking spot and his locker. The Bacardi rum people callled and said the advertising money is going to stop if Pitchy leaves. So.....I guess Pitchy might as well forget about the rum and Coke holder on the mower. Sure hope he don't resort to drinking wood alcohol.

I think I know the real reason why Pitchy might possibly bail......he is afraid because we are getting close to page 100 and he is gonna have to give up the mower as a prize.___------6. :D

Nice job, Gunny. I don't mind doing finish work. Did it all in my house. Kinda have to be in the mood though, and I ain't much these days.

Wow Six! You gotta be careful bro. Slamfires ain't funny.
Sorry you got hit with the case. I burned a 45acp into my old man's arm last Friday.

I'm sorry Pitchy is upset. I was a little with the "better than others" thing. I don't think that at all. I'm usually quite self deprecating most of the time.
I figure us hanging here is doing a favor to everyone. We like to bull and talk about totally off topic stuff. Doing it here prevents thread drift on people's on topic posts. And they can still come and participate if they like.
I got enough going on without adding drama. I'm here cause it's fun to shoot the bull with like minded guys.

I enjoy trim work but I gotta say the older I'm getting the longer it takes, my up close vision ain't what it was, the knees protest and I'm not going to mention my back! Seriously though NOTHING in carpentry is at a comfortable level for long. Yer either bent down or overhead most of the time.

Anyhow I sure hope Pitchy isn't pizzed off, hope he is just taking a break.

Ok time to flip the switch- come on coffee!

Gunny feeling his age?????? He is just a pup at 49!!!' Up until I was 60 I climbed to the top of this mountain in Colorado where we elk hunt...full pack, heavy old Winchester, Colt in a shoulder holster........the last time I got off of that mountain I said I ain't going up there no more and I haven't. Gunny must have very good patience.....it's the finishing work that always got on my nerves....put down the heavy 2 x 8's and let someone else do the moulding.

Yea Jay.....it's a good group of people here and it's not easy keeping a happy face. I've had baaaaddd things happen to me but I keep it to myself and carry on with the boys. That's because you never show your enemies your soft spots. In every group of people there is a certain percentage of them that LOVE downfalls in other people's lives and if given the chance, will stab ya real quick. ....no matter how much they preach Christianity. They are just "pretenders" of the "high moral road". Its easy to see who they are .....they stay away from here.....the occasional visits from people like Doc and a few other are always welcome and are just interested guys in what we are doing at the moment.......but the real back stabbers never chime in.....F 'em

I have an only brother that would drink beer with ya while holding the beer can in one hand and the other hand on the phone to the State Police. -----6

Each year of working construction equals 6, so I might be 49 but I started in this biz at 14 so I'm actually 210!! No wonder my back hurts!!!!!

Hmmnow I'm thinking about a 350 Legend barrel for the orphan AR...

Well.....big match tomorrow...gotta load .308's....again......can't take the Reaper as I have no scope settings so I'm going back to the old 700 Remington that uses a different load.....and I don't have any....gotta load em....PHUCK!......in addition to that aggravation I only have a 4-12 Nikon on the Remington with no time for sight settings on a better scope. I am always unprepared because of unintended consequences..........

Think I'll have a rum and Coke....naaaaaa! Maybe, just maybe...as I'm watching the military history channel.....I'll use an M-79 grenade launcher and I'll drop five animals with one shot.

Maybe a Ma-Deuce ...gotta go load .308's---6

Well I got up this morning with one heck of a stiff neck! I shoulda stayed home but I went to the club anyway. Those hard lefts were a bear! Only shot 2vrounds and put up my guns.

Next weekend is the all clays, 25 skeet, 25 trap, 25 wobble and 25 bunker. Usually 50-70 shooters and makes for a very long day but it's good fun. I have to make a sign to put on my tailgate-
IF YOU SEE MY SHOTGUN, THE REDHEADED STEPCHILD PLEASE CALL ( MY PHONE NUMBER) AS IT WAS STOLEN FROM MY TRUCK AT LAST YEARS ALL CLAYS MATCH. IF YOU KNOW THE PERSON THAT TOOK IT PLEASE CALL THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE IN FOGLESVILLE.
Yes it actually has REDHEADED STEPCHILD engraved on the receiver!

Rough wheeling trip today. Drizzling and wet so I was driving down the road with a rag wiping the inside of the windshield. :D
Steep climb, big rocks, wet and muddy. Three guys opted out at the trail head. I was second to last, so by the time I went it was all tore up and really bad. Had a great run, however. Had a super run. Did a lot of winching, but it was others. In one pic, the red YJ was balanced on rocks and very off cambered. I ran my cable by him, up to a snatch block and pulled him up off the rocks.
Had a guy with us with a BRAND NEW GLADIATOR. It was on 37s and was very impressive.

Oh man! Everybody had a blast today! The Gunny was smokin' that barrel having fun with the boys. You said you had a stiff neck.....what was the cause? Ya know, its possible the viagra you took last night got lodged in your throat, it'll give ya a stiff neck!

Jay......what's the scoop on the YJ? Whys the hood up? Looking at those rocks would make me back out too......never could understand why someone would take a perfectly good Jeep and subject it to those horrors. Well, my boy would. I would with the YJ but not with the Rubicon or mom's Jeep ...or my daughters new Jeep......yesterday I suggested she should take out the back seat for more room. Told her I would put it in a big plastic bag and put it in her old bedroom...temperature and humidity controlled....she balked.......THEN I told her that if there's no back seat that no one could say, "Let's take Candy's Jeep" as there's would only be room for one passenger....that worked...I took it out. ....lots of sponges out there.

I went to the long range match and used the Remington 700 in .308 with the 5R rifling and a cheap $500 Nikon 4-14x....ahh, nothing to brag about...not good but not bad considering the gun I used. My buds were laughing about the wood stock I have on it as everyone uses composite plastic junk nowadays.

Oh...oh.....stopped at the hardware store on the way home and got some paint for the finish coat on the "Worlds Finest Wheelbarrow". The wife loves it. Wish I could get her to use it.----6

Wheelbarrow looks great buddy.

The YJ.....
This kid was kinda new, not much experience. He should have spent less on his zombie stickers and lights, and more on lockers and hard parts and upgrades. He had converted to an electric fan, and it died. While he was stuck the 2.5 got so hot it blew the top off the coolant bottle and puked coolant. Of course, old Jay carries a gallon jug of water so I bailed him out after I winched him out. No biggie. If he learned some lessons, and learns from them, he will be good. If after a couple more trips he still needs babysitting, his invites will drop off.
As for wheeling the Jeeps.......
I bought my Rubicon new in May of 03. As you know, they weren't cheap. However, they were conceived to wheel and be a badazzed rig. If I don't wheel it, I wasted my money, as I see it. In spite of some hard trails, you'd be shocked how clean and minty it is. After every ride, I clean it all up and go over everything. There is ALWAYS a risk of damage or rollover, but I accept it as the enjoyment and fun WAY outweighs it.

A Ruby that has never seen mud is a Yuppy ride! It's in the Jeep DNA to crave mud, low speed crawling ! Time for you and your orange ride to go north and find some Maine mud!! :D

Now ya gotta get a Jeep sticker for your wheelbarrow!

So the kid needs a mentor, school of hard knocks works too but I'm sure the guys you wheel with have a lot to teach.

Oh well it's time for some Gunship coffee!

Thank you guys.

Lenn,
Sorry if you are feeling poorly or struggling. We all need some time once in a while, bud.
I can just picture 85lb Zoey in a hack! :D
She shakes the Jeep around! :D

Gunny,
Believe it or not, we don't do much mud. It's a rare occurrence. It was mostly due to weather yesterday.
We do mostly rocks and climbs. Highly technical type wheeling. Mud makes a mess and I got it out of my system a long time ago! :D

Six,
Thanks old buddy. It still looks real good other than lots of bush marks. I put two coats of wax on it last week and it looks great, though. The underneath gets a lot of rock rash but I always rattle can the frame and axles once or twice a season. Gas tank skid is next to be upgraded. It's got some dents and blossoms. :D
I'm highly skilled..........well, lucky, and have done NO body damage so far. I will say, I am a VERY cautious wheeler and don't rely on "skinny pedal" to make an obstacle.
Oh.....and no, you can't have it. :D
Besides, I must have 250k in it now.

I dont have a motorcycle but Winnie and Claro both like to ride on my quad- AT THE SAME TIME! They both ride the Ranger as well as head out the truck window. Parker isn't comfortable on the quad, she is warming up to the Ranger, but she is in a crate in the truck after she destroyed both door panels in the truck!!

Lenn I sure hope you feel better soon. Pain sucks! Past couple weeks my back& now my neck have been giving me fits.

OW my mud remark was at Six and his pavement ONLY Rubicon- when I had my 08 Ruby it was in & out of the woods more than it saw a highway! Mud, snow ,brush is what they are supposed to see, not BMW's & Lexus's!! I buried my Ruby in snow so bad that we had to get the skidder cable to it, pulled about 3 feet and I had traction again. Fun stuff!

I haven't done a lot of technical wheeling but I have spent lots of hours on the bush roads in Quebec, lots of mud, log bridges that shouldn't hold a 9000 lbs truck, water crossings and as long as you know when to hit the "skinny pedal" most times you can make it! I would always ride point with the Ram /Cummins, if I got through and the other guys couldn't I'd just drag them through!

Some guys in the club were wheeling a jamboree in Quebec, yesterday. In the videos you could see where the trail was cause it looked like a canal. Yuck!
I was going into camp back in 06 on May 6th. WAY too early. I was on about 3ft of mealy snow most of the way.
About 6 miles in the road crossed a chopping and the snow was gone but the frost was going out. I hit a pocket and the last time I backed up, my spare tire on the tailgate was rolling mud up. I had to crawl out the passenger door, spooled out all but 3 wraps on the drum. Hit the trigger and pulled the tree down. I ran straps around three trees and finally got out.
Lost an axle seal on that little escapade.
