Thanks bud.
He is 53. He has a lot of support at least. Good family and lots of friends. One of those guys everybody likes. Do anything for anybody.
Has his own business and a custom Harley building business on the side.
They had to remove a piece of skull to relive pressure yesterday. He is a big, tough, guy. We are all hopeful.

Been a rough spring up here. Both my parents have some health issues, also. Some of why I've been a little scarce here. May be for a while yet.
No worries, though. It'll all work out. :D

Yea if i want to go to jail for a long time, and to many neighbors that would see ya.
I called the DNR last year and told me that the State owns the bear and i`m not allowed to do anything to it and they won`t either.
Like everything else it sucks, they`ll probably put the bear on welfare and send it to free school next.

Then send the State a bill for all the damage the bear does. Then, when the State doesn't pay up... claim that amount as a loss on your taxes... citing the unpaid bill. Don't be bashful about what gets added to that bill either!

An old trapper told me that to get rid of a problem bear to put fish hooks in meat( suet cake ) and then let it eat its fill. The hooks cause a very slow painful death and that is NOT humane!!
Now that the bear has done property damage your DNR should get off their azzes and trap that sucker!
For a long time I have put a cap full of Pinesol in every bag of garbage that goes out, the bears dont like pinesol- try pouring pinesol around - might work. Suppose you could make bear boards, plywood with nail driven through- points up laying on the ground.

Thanks for the replies, the problem here is Normas bird seed and suet, we now have it all put away so maybe problem solved.
DNR won`t do any thing if you have food laying around, seems we go through this every year but Norma don`t get it i guess.
Think we`ll put some pinesol out though anyway.

I would not like that Pitchy.....I go outside regularly at nighttime to get something out of the garage...barn....vehicle...etc. I've run into possums. Deer and foxes take off before I see them.

Hey! Maybe if you got one of those road signs that say, "bear left" and put it by the shed. Your bear will see it and think he is alone and might not come back.---6

Lift kit #2 showed up in Thursday's mail, this one fit just right! About 3 hours to install it. I had to grind just about 1/16" on one side of a bracket due to an oversize weld on the rear shock mount but other than that it was painless (except for one knuckle)!
Factory ground clearance was 11" now it is 13".
Since I was on a roll I rigged up a pulley in the shed so I could winch the plow up into a vertical storage position- it's out of my way now, gained some floor space! Now I wish I could find a buyer for my quad...

Cleaned out my truck- I'm going shooting tomorrow!! Match next weekend, hoped to have a few more practice targets but I'm not shooting in the rain and it's been raining a lot lately!

Gunny......What did you do...put a 2" body lift on it?

Rain? I cut grass today and my front yard has to be the winner in the neighborhood for "nastiest looking yard". Took an hour to power wash the Kubota.......yea......I needed to KEEP the tractor in 4 wheel drive the whole time. The wife said I should have just let it go until it dries up but we guys don't have that kind of patience.--6

No Six it's a 2" suspension 'drop'. How it works is these are spacers that go on the top side of the shocks in the front and the rear shocks get attached to a drop bracket.

You should have let the grass alone, you probably did more damage by making ruts . Just have to wait and see IF it ever dries up!

Mmm BRCC Gunship sure does tast good this morning :D .

Parker was just barking at 3 deer, all were yearlings- the doe's have kicked the kids to the curb so they can have fawns. Our population is down from what it was.

And now for an hour &1/2 ride to the gun club...

Old Savage....yes.....YOU are the Grillmaster! I believe I'm in a bit of hot water right now....YOUR grill is on our patio. I'll get it out to ya as soon as I get my shyt together and buy the Traeger.

Gunny.....I hear ya.....I can cut about 85% of the yard before I start causing ruts but a few sections caught me by surprise. I went out a bit ago and cut the other 15% with a push mower.

Pretty yard you have Six!

Well I should have stayed in bed! My trip to the club wasn't up to my expectations! I was 16 targets off my average. I guess I shouldn't complain, first time I've shot since November. Guess I'll have to get my shyt together for the match next week.

First.....you guys have NO IDEA how bad the yard looks. I'll Take some closeups tomorrow.

Going in for an MRI on Tuesday morning. Not looking forward to that....doc told me to drop a couple of klonopins before going. Then the people there told me it's an open machine so I may not need the meds.

Fred.....I'll take the grill apart then scrape off all of the old grease before sending it to ya..... :D ...it's junk...j.u.n.k.-----6

WOW did we have a thunderstorm last night! Constant thunder/ lightning for quite awhile, almost an inch of rain.

Six, when I worked at the lumberyard I got to the point where a basic Weber grill was a 15 minute job to assemble. If I had a dollar for every one I put together I could afford a couple of your Winchesters!! :D no I don't miss that place!

Rain missed us Gunny......lots of heat lightning and only a few sprinkles.........."supposed" to be nice for the next week or two.

Gonna head down to our favorite hardware/farm store....Brandywine Hardware......in addition to other things we "need", I'm hoping they sell some kind of a jig for sharpening lawn mower blades. I currently use one of those stones that you chuck in a drill press and while they work OK, I'm looking for a more perfect grind. Sometimes I'll use the belt sander but you have to "go by eye". Maybe I can just make one from a block of oak.

Got three sets of blades on the Kubota that uses 3 blades and the little push mower. I like sharp blades. You have experience with this Gunny.....Pitchy?-------6

Dad had a lawn mower shop when I was growing up. I sharpened thousands of blades. My standard was perfectly balanced, one even swipe across, no burn on the steel. There was a magnetic balance on the wall behind the grinding wheel. The wheel had the standard. mounting on it to set the bevel.

Here you go, this is the deal.

We had 40's and rain from Friday night til Sunday afternoon. Was melting 40lbs of scrap lead into ingots I quit Friday, wind was a cold south east blast. Still got 8lbs left to do.
I have a prize for the next top page winner. Hornady .338 200gr FP meant for the .33 Winchester, lucky person pays the postage.
We used, a fiber disk on an angle grinder, to sharpen blades on the mowers at the Sod Farm. Boss could darn near put a shaving edge on them. Course he's 78 and has been doing it most of his life.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage: The Original short action, compact, high velocity cartridge.

Yep i use the side grinder to sharpen about everything, just got to be careful not to turn it blue. :)
We went back in the hills and did some digging on the old narrow gauge line, found 40 spikes and all those bolts were in one hole.
That pin with the clip retainer on it is interesting.
This line was active 125.00 years ago, if you wern`t finding spikes you wouldn`t know you were on the line.

Not one thing wrong with that group Pitchy!! I'd say you are ready for the zombie hoards!!

Six I sharpen my mower blades with an angle grinder. It works for me. I've seen those balancers, never bothered with one.

Oh 3legg those 200s would be real nice fodder for my 338 WM and my 338 Federal... I'm just saying... :D
