Got Back From Ohio
And Mom's funeral.
It was a nice service.
She was quite the musician and vocalist and there was several tapes and CDs of her singing in choir, small groups and a solo or two. It's not often that a person gets to sing at their own funeral.
While she was a good person and we loved her, she, I, and Sister never got along all that well. It was very cathartic and I was grateful to meet all her other friends and loved ones...especially her church pastor, and all the people that she lived with at her two assisted living/memory care facilities....turns out she was the life of the party and loved by all.
Anyway, thanks for all YOUR prayers and good thoughts. I'm sure they helped a pad a fast, long drive (5,300 total miles in a total of 8.5 days...the Alaskan Camper is great.) and a tedious few days with sister and step sister.

May she rest in peace, Blaine. It sounds like you are at peace, also. I'm glad of that, and that it was a safe trip.
God Bless.
God Bless.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

That's a lot of driving Blaine...anymore I find driving more than 50 miles tiring.
Well, you did your compulsory duty with respect and it's back to regular life.
I dread the next time I have to do that as there's bad feelings with a few of the parasites in my family. In fact, if I'm asked to go to this "one individual's" funeral (lot older than me) I'm gonna tell them, "Nope, I ain't going because he ain't coming to mine."----6

Made the same trip to Akron for Dad in Feb. Same problem with siblings.

Glad you are home safe, Blaine. Families sure can be complicated.
Now, the missing piece is, what did Odie say when he saw you again?

Happy you are home safely. Sorry to hear about the tension. Dealing with some of that myself with some of my siblings. Not fun.

I am not looking forward to the same type of situation when it happens in my family. Blaine, you kept the family squabbles out of your posts, and you kept your posts on a good adult level. I have to say that you sure did keep it where all of us on this forum are proud of you.
