Interesting, thanks for sharing.
I never had much of an opinion on the 95 but I have learned a lot more about them from this forum.
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

As always, sales drive production. Knew a few now-deceased hunters who had M95's. Every one had a sling as they all said it was too difficult and cumbersome to carry forward of the magazine.

Would not mind having one though.
The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....

I've had two (both Miroku's), a .30-06 that I sold when the .405 was introduced.

I installed an XS receiver sight meant for a Marlin 1894 atop the rear of the .405's bolt top, along with an XS White Line front sight blade (pinned-in) for a M-1895 - but IME the factory ammo I was using just penciled through game, allowing a very healthy run-off & non-recovered (deer) game .

Yes, I know how to track effectively, but my Son is a better tracker then me - and neither of us were able to recover the game.

Bottom line, I sold the .405, and only wished I hadn't sold the .30-06.

I didn't mind carrying my M-1895's with a shoulder strap/sling, as when on stand the rifle is in my lap, and while stalking it's carried cross-chest with both hands.

Simple walks were handled via slinging the rifle upside-down off my shooting shoulder - it was easily swung up into firing position when needed.

It seems I was able to adapt to the rifle; others cannot seem to.
