handy little winchester 'big bore' trapper

Post by hfcable »

recently going in to our remote mining site in our 4 wheeler [ side by side rhino with hard top and windshield ], we had a coyote running down the trail ahead.....whenever I tried to get the rifle out, he jumped off the trail and my .356 marlin couldn't be swung into action in time.

remembered that I had picked up this custom 'big bore' winchester 307 that someone had turned into a 16" trapper with short magazine with tang sight, so I also put a leupold 1.5-5 with quick detach lever rings,.......got it pretty cheap out of an estate auction

soooo.... just try that stuff again mr coyote

we are going out there again, for moose and caribou, and bear... if they show themselves, on sept 7th

this should be handy to keep in the wheeler...... although my go to rifle for the actual hunting will be my Winchester 1876 in 50/95

Are you sure that rifle wasn't made by Acme?
