A lot of that smoke was being brought by weather conditions from Canada. Our PNW smoke storm has finally being pushed out by a nice breezy on-shore front. It's nice and cool and I can see the sky, sun, moon and stars again.

I saw a weather report the other day that we're experiencing overcast days due to the forest fires all the way here in OH. Pretty crazy.

Smoky summers are something I do not miss from all my years in Oregon. It seems that fires are especially predictable in southern Oregon and northern California. My ex in Ashland, Oregon, says they have scarcely had a smoke-free day in two months. Brother in Spokane also complaining, as they have gotten smoke from the Ore-Cal fires as well as smoke from the many fires in British Columbia this summer. It really takes the joy out of living in otherwise beautiful places.

We have had some of that smoke in the Dallas area. Those folks out there fighting the fires are for sure having a tough year. I have heard that crews from as far away as Australia have come to California to provide assistance. I hope that those fires can be put out soon without further loss of lives. The damage seems to be mind boggling.

Contact the California Air Resources Board, I'm sure they will sue someone and require catalytic converters on all future wildfires.

I've been smelling smoke of and on for several weeks now. And mine as well as my wifes and others sinuses are inflamed. Since we are between there and OH this explains that.

Oh what to take for the sinus problems?

Cough, cough, snort, sniff gag .....

We're getting smoke from the Wenatchee, Wa. fires here in Northern Oregon, and have had it for so long I can't recall when it started. Smoke thick enough that we can look right at the sun without sunglasses and not be bothered. Health alerts every day for particulates, and my wife is having a tough time with the smoke smell.
It rained last night, so we may get a one day break from the smoke today! But supposed to be back to smoke on Monday again.

The news report here on Saturday morning said:

...the red morning sun and upper-atmosphere haze we were seeing above us was due to the fires out in CA...

And that is way over here in MAINE! ! !

Even with the rain our smoke stuck around. And I think it's even heavier, or pushed down lower by the rain. Very smoky smell outside today!

We had a haze yesterday here in Ohio. I was wondering if it was smoke related. No smell.
