Interesting, they must run Helium in the engine and compress it to get the power needed.
Sterling discovered for every pound of air compressed will double the horse power but the engine has to be double acting so the pressure is equal on both sides of the power piston.
I`ve built a engine like that and proved it works, i had a video but i think it`s locked up in PB.

Len that’s amazing, can you scale one down for a really small generator? Todd/3leg
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

Not with the design like i built, you would have to go high tech pressurized with Helium.
Winnebago made a sterling generator for they`er motorhome there`s a article in the 1976 popular mechanics mag.
I have that mag, i think it was 76 could of been 79 but it never came on the market.

Lenn -- love the sounds of honest engines at work.
Doc, I had no idea the Swedes were up to such fascinating developments.

I always wondered why there wasn't more done with steam engines. I remember reading stories about trains running across Florida in the early years when the land was being settled. The fireman would ride out on the cowcatcher with a rifle. He'd shoot a deer and they'd stop and dress the deer then fire up the locomotive to over 90 MPH to make up for the lost time and arrive on time with fresh venison. I'm not sure you could do that with a diesel electric.
