Gotta get some Purple Paint....

Post by AJMD429 »

Interesting new law in Indiana.

I had made a durable stencil I could use to paint poles and trees, but most tree-bark is hard to stencil-paint on.

Decades ago, my Grandpa had it covered with a 12ga blast into the air and a mighty shout of HEAD FOR HOME, BRUNO...

I thought that paint law was pretty general in most states.

Montana uses orange paint at fence gaps and waterways.
Texas uses purple paint so it doesn't get confused with survey markings.

In Texas, you only need the purple paint on open space land. A fence means the same thing. Unfortunately, public attorneys are lazy and won't prosecute unless you have a record of the person being warned beforehand.

South Carolina's law is much simpler and easier to enforce. Essentially, if you don't own a property that you are on, and you're there without permission, you are trespassing.

So, no purple paint, no signs -- if you know it's not yours, you're on notice.
