Re: OT- thought I'd share some pics
Thanks fellas!
Yes there was a lot of thinkin involved. That half octagon took 4&1/2 days. Had to make each board thanks to the framer, each side was different from its neighbor so the face angle changed each length... Lotta thinkin there!
The homeowner tried about a dozen stain colors without finding the right color. I explained that the only way to get the orange ( pumpkin pine) color was to use amber shellac. It will only get better with time! Best part of shellac is dry time, only takes minutes! About 8 gallons of shellac later.

Just what I was thinking....as did Pitchy........whew......if it's not a perfect 4x8 rectangle, I'm lost.
Very impressed Gunny.....love that knotty pine.....when we had two rooms built in the barn...10x20 each...for sitting...whatever.....my better half insisted on knotty pine for the walls. ----6

Wow, that's neat!
Thanks for sharing the additional pix -- it sure was more involved than the 1st pix we saw. Nice work!

Re: OT- thought I'd share some pics
Thanks guys! Still more work needs to be done but the homeowners are at the mercy of the bank. But I'd bet the construction loan turns up kinda quick, the appraiser walked into the house and blurted out I LOVE YOUR HOUSE.
The house still needs floors, doors( interior) , baseboard heat, 2 bathrooms, trim and the kitchen. Not to mention siding , trim and gutters.
This project is in its 3rd year. It's a slow process when you don't have a bank vault full of money!
