where has Grizz gone ?
Hey shooters, glad you asked!
I'm SEAK basking in the wind, rain, and 45 degree days. Actually that's not fair, it warmed up to a steamy 55d and only two showers went through today. Southeast is So beautiful.
I came back to work on my house. Been making improvements by paging through the deferred maintenance items and working up from the bottom. We put in 22 pilings last summer and I got five new ones in this trip when someone indicated he wanted the house more than I did. I asked him how much more and took his offer. So now I am not quite homeless, I have to shlep the accumulated stuff of many years and two businesses and three children ago out of the house by a date certain, and get it all into a storage locker closer to Blaine so we can meet for lunch.
I drove the manvan here this year, next year I maybe might come up in the little blue sailboat, a voyage I didn't complete last year. Beachcombing in out of the way places and sailing with the wind will be the goals.
Other than this and that, that's the basic situation report.

Grizz, I hope you are not leaving God's country behind for good. SEAK is a paradise -- ASSUMING your Helly Hansens don't leak.
Re: where has Grizz gone ?
Bill, I agree about SEAK, love it here.
That said, if I come back it will be by small boat on the order of an expedition. When I get done this summer all my family ties to this spot will be severed.
Thanks guys for the comments, I appreciate hearing from you.

Re: where has Grizz gone UPDATE
Back in PNW for now. I rented a uhaul box van, sent to Pelican by ferry, loaded it over the two week wait for the next ferry, boated it to Juneau, transferred seven tons into a dry cargo container, ferried to Skagway in the PackVav and drove to WA state, in one week's time. Drove from Skagway to Bremerton in 48hrs.
My cargo is at AML in Seattle where I will revisit the stuff, reverse the operations and transfer to rented storage space.
My new hairbrained scheme is to resume commercial fishing on a micro level, skiff fishing and highgrading the summer runs, cherry picking the weather and just plain enjoying the life and times with all of the pleasures and none of the responsibilities. I have the boat for this half-built and a strong motivation to get it ready for the epic return to my commercial fishing roots, skiff fishing again for the wiley Alaska Salmon. Epic Irony.
Best,
Grizz

That sounds like a mighty fine plan
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.
