And the Model 92. There are more than 10 great lever action firearms.

If I could find one, a model 88 in good shape would be something to buy. A model 99 wouldn't be bad. I couldn't convince PillHer to let go of the funds a few years ago when a former member here was helping a neighbor sell a model 99 that had been sitting in an attic for years. Regrets.

I would drop the BLR from the list, it's not a traditionally engineered lever action and add the Winchester 1895 instead, which was an engineering marvel when introduced,

Better to increase the list to 15. The BLR in .243 may be my most accurate rifle.

Marlin 1895 and 336 are essentially the same action, one of those could be dropped from that list. And he's going to list the Savage 99 because of its magazine and full size cartridge it is predated and loses out to the 1895 Winchester. Better to keep the 99 because of its external safety, round counter or loaded chamber indicator. Not real sold on the BLR either, some of them have problems with the internal gears jumping and locking the gun up. Friend of mine had one that did it to him more than once.

336/1895/444 are to my way of thinking all pretty much the same thing . So with that being said the 336/1895 would be one of mine the 39A another and the Win 1886 a third , the rest they have listed do nothing for me . And I’d add the square bolt Marlin 1893 , 1894 and 1895 .

The list was supposed to be "the best".

I would not have included the Henry or the 1873.

They are interesting but not "the best".

I wouldn't mind having a BLR in .223 if they'd use a decent twist rate. As it is I'll just pass.
