I was among them this morning at our cemetery, Lenn. It was an honor.

I pray every day that our nation behaves in a way that proves we deserve those hundreds of thousands of sacrifices.
I fear we don't, but I'm determined to do my part to correct that.

I talked to my son today and thanked him for his service. He thanked me for all the rifle and handgun training I gave him, that was the least I could do.

Remembering especially:
Lt John F. Cochrane, 409th RRU (ASA) with 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, our XO actually respected and loved by all of his men, killed by a sniper in Viet Nam on October 24, 1966;

Sgt. Don Richard Sykes, my former track driver, killed by small arms fire with the 11th ACR during his extended combat tour in Viet Nam on August 12, 1969.
