Good for ya on the real maple syrup.

But...

Heaven's above, how old is that waffle maker? (grin)

And is that a suicide (non-polarized) plug on that fabric cord?

Pretty nice OldWin..

A weekends wirth? I don’t know, it might last Pitchy and Norma a weekend. That and a stick of butter would probably last me for 3 waffles! Todd/3leg

When I was a kid you could get little squares of maple sugar. I surely loved that stuff. Mom could make it into syrup...

A few years ago some friends sent a big jug to us for Christmas, it sure went good with flapjacks and waffles and sausage.

I like pure maple syrup and pure cane syrup but that fake stuff is for the birds.

3 Leg,
Wow! Better go easy, there, buddy.

Blaine,
I don't know if it's the same thing, but they have the maple candy here still. It's the sap evaporated all out and pressed into shapes. Looks like a light brown sugar.
My wife loves it.

I don't have much of a sweet tooth but I like a little syrup on French Toast. It's good on ice cream too.
Yeah, the fake stuff is nasty.
They make a lot if syrup here. Even the trees in town on peoples lawns are tapped.
Up north, they have HUGE operations that run for miles. They put a vacuum on the lines and draw the sap out of the trees.

This thread is making me want to go out and get a waffle iron. Haven't had a waffle in years. They were a staple when I was growing up, and yes, that old iron wanted to burn or kill you.
