Wow, that five gallon bucket of rocks seems a bit over the top, I propose a ban on buckets of rocks over one gallon for civilian use, the police and military of course can have five gallon buckets :|

I agree. Rocks are the answer. But they should be improved a bit. Maybe high velocity copper coated lead "rocks" and instead of throwing them by hand they could be projected out of a small compact device that lets you throw multiple rocks before you have to reach for another handful of rocks to throw. Hmm...

Nope, Nope, Nope. Those would be Assault Rocks and should be banned.

Rocks are better than marshmallows.

I'm just hoping that they follow through and teach some "marsksmanship" in PE.

There are definitely better defensive weapons when the other guy has a gun, but a well thrown rock is pretty formidable at close range.

:)
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Well boys, it worked real good in the Old and New testaments in my KJV Bible. Of course the person they were stoning did not have an "AR " assault rifle with lots of full mag.

Wonder what will happen if (and when) a fight starts in class and the students start throwing rocks at each other and the teacher????
The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....

Kids today are not allowed to play games that involve throwing objects (someone could get hurt), I would love to see them attempt to throw these rocks.
But of course there may be an "app" for that.

Quite an escalation from the blackboard erasers we used to throw at each other in a between-classes fight, before the travelling teacher (Sister Mary Elephant, in my case) arrived (there was always some who kept their eye on the hallway, as a lookout, for an arriving teacher).

By the time the teacher entered the room, EVERY one of us angels was sitting at our desks, a lingering cloud of chalk dust not-withstanding.

Ya know, this is popping up on several forums. As goofy as it sounds, I see real merit in the idea of getting kids' heads around the concept of getting mad and defending themselves -- with whatever is at hand. It is an evolutionary step waaaay up from run, hide, be a victim.

I agree. My main issue is that local and government officials won't allow armed security and expect the children to protect themselves with rocks.

I'm for rocks for students... and guns for armed security professionals (and some teachers). Multi-layered defense is the way to go!
