Looking for parts for Old style Uberti 1866 UPDATED

Post by gordylew »

Looking for a flat old style lever safety/ trigger spring for a Uberti 1866 Yellow boy 38 Spl. The current ones use a one piece trigger and leaf string that is held in with a screw. the old style was held in with a drift pin and looks longer with two ears. email me if you have a line on one or have one. Thanks Gordon Sybillew2@windstream.net

I looked at their website and did not see what I was looking for. I may call them. Uberti did not have it and was unaware of there being a model change.

Uberti made some major changes in their 1866 many many years ago and to the best of my knowledge there are no parts available for the early ones.

Hi Mate,
Sent you an email.
I will look at some parts I have that came from an 1886 replica.
Do you have a pic of the part you want.
Even if it’s broken.
Just to give me an idea of what you need.
Regards.
Pop.

Back in Business. I wish I would have taken a picture of what was given to me in the beginning. This thing was in a bag of parts missing several pieces. Uberti has changed the inner workings since this one was produced probably in the 60s or 70s. Finding parts was a lot of fun. The hammer spring feels very weak but it does hit with enough force to set them off. I post another pic after a range day. Thanks again to Pop's in Australia for the trigger safety spring.

Great, glad to see your 66 is up and running, there's nothing sadder than a gun that won't shoot or perhaps a pub with no beer. Cheers to Pop Watts for finding the spring :D
