Gunshow report

Post by jnyork »

Yuma AZ gunshow this morning, well attended despite the major car show the same day. Quite a few guns, only one table of homemade fudge and beanie babies, one other of ladies costume jewelry. Didnt see any fake samurai swords. Not a single .22 target rifle to be had. One Marlin 39A, nice older model at 450. Excellent Savage 23 in 25-20 with period correct scope, 335.00. Maybe 12 or so schuetzen rifles scattered around. Plenty of older lever guns. Lots of handguns. Strangely, not so many EBR's and those priced maybe 50% higher than the show in January. Shot the breeze with friends, perused the merchandise, came home only $6.00 lighter. :D

.

That plethora of old leverguns & Scheutzen rifles tells me that a LOT of older shooters are no longer active.

IMO, the early Marlin 39a was a sleeper, given that Marlin's no longer making them.

Ida bought the 25/20 too. You going back tomorrow? Gunshow I’m at us small. Only thing I want there is a 20 gauge Savage Fox SxS. Todd/3leg
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!
