Google Blocks Guns

Post by JohndeFresno »

We know that almost all of Silicon Valley and Internet related companies are run by super-Liberal, gun-hating types. I would say "Idiots," but I don't want the Moderator(s) to block or delete this e-mail, so I won't call those morons "Idiots."

Now - Google abruptly decided to block all Internet searches containing the word "gun." I have learned that the "public response was immediate," since we do not like to have the predilections of corporate bubbleheads being foisted upon our daily Internet business and searches.

I read further that Google, noting the huge and immediate loss of subscribers, is NOW working to narrow their censorship to "AR-15" and perhaps a few other terms, as if the search criteria is going to fix our nation's woes and address the problem of an overpermissive society and its love affair with misfits and misguided zealots.

I have set up my search engine to "Bing;" but "Yahoo," Microsoft related companies, many other are all in bed with the Left, so I don't know for sure if this will help.

ANYBODY who knows of a good full-featured search engine (like Google) that won't stifle searches - please speak up for all of our benefit on this forum.

Thanks!

Try "DuckDuckGo". I just typed in "ar15 guns" and got all kinds of response. I've using this search engine for years and another good thing is it doesn't store your search information. Best regards. Wind

"AR15 guns" on Google just garnered 4,150,000 hits in 0.47 seconds. They need to fine-tune that block a bit...

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

What they blocked is Google Shopping, a thing I have never used and in fact did not even know existed. Their attempt at out Amazon-ing Amazon -- another thing I do not use. The search engine Google is not blocked, and is, In a world where no search engine is perfect and some are absolutely awful (Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing!), the best of the bunch, IMO.

Wow!
I am always the last one to fall for "Urban Legends" but it looks like I finally fell for one.

Must admit "My bad" for not checking this out, first.

Thank you all. Apologies to Google.

that's OK John, it might not be true today but that's not saying it won't be true in 6 months.

I've used DuckDuckGo since I ditched my microsoft computer.
I now use Linux Mint, Libre office, Firefox, and a bunch of other stuff that is neither, clunky, resource hungry, expensive, or bug ridden and in need of daily updates.

If Google COULD block everything regarding 'guns' or otherwise sabotage it, I'm sure they would.... :|

I changed all of my browser search traffic to DuckDuckGo a few months ago and haven't noticed and drop in performance, but a clear shift toward what I want to find instead of what Google wants me to find.
