Cold weather

Post by GunnyMack »

I was just reminded why I like the cold!
Yesterday we had mid 50's, a little rain last night. Today is warm again, almost 60!
I took the garbage can down this morning, cleaned the shop wood stove, ran to town for dog food. As I was coming through the door, food in 1 hand new toy for Parker in the other I feel something crawling behind my ear....
TICK
Boy how I despise ticks!
If this wasn't such a fine family forum I'd really speak my mind.
Needless to say this tick has met a very quick and final end of its days. A very satisfying POP when I squished it with my knife!
Oh and our forecast for tomorrow night is 4-6" of snow, come on snow!!

Tick in the middle of February? Now that is just rude!

I hate Ticks, they were the no 1 reason that the last cat went to the happy hunting ground. one of the Guys at Church got Lyme disease and He has a bunch of Serious Health problems from it. Now the neighbors have three cats running loose. what do I have sitting on My porch rail a lot ??? I hate cats as much as ticks.

Instead of squishing them right away, one should dissect a tick or take it apart for a close examination, to see................what makes it tick.

Took a tick off my setter this afternoon and now it's 32 with 2" of snow. Virginia weather can be crazy, kinda miss Maine where it got cold and stayed that way, not this flip-flop.

Used to get all kind of bugs in the winter when the firewood was next to the stove and heated up. Im just glad MN don't have fire ants yet. Todd/3leg
