Our first snow

Post by Pitchy »

Got about four inches last night with 40 mph winds, we always take a drive in the morn to see if there are any tree`s across the road after a wet heavy snow.
Sure as pelosi a popular up rooted across the township road not far from my driveway, it wasn`t on my land but being the good citizens we are we came back and got the saw and tractor and moved it, this was before light about six this morn.

Like the "first snow" ever? I'll be deciding whether to go thru MN this trip or go farther south on my way from WA to SC today... Looking at the weather map, I'll probably head on a more southerly route.

It sure is pretty, if you don't have to be out traveling thru snow. Enjoy. And good on ya for takin' care of the downed tree.

First snow, little ice on the highway here and supposed to be cold tonight and tomorrow night.
I think they only got a couple inches by MPLS and its a bit warmer down there.
They say rain here Sunday so I`m thinking the snow won`t last long.
Safe travels Griff.

Yeah yeah most of you will think I'm nuts but I love the snow! I'm really excited this year because I bought a new toy to try out.
For the past 11 years I have been plowing on my Artic Cat quad, being 11 years older, somewhat wiser, I realized that my back and hips really don't like being straddling the machine so I bought a new Polaris Ranger. I put a 30" light bar on the roof. Even hooked up my satellite radio so I can continue to plow the neighborhood with toons ![attachment=0]image.jpeg[/attachment

Nice GunnyMack, looks like fun.
I like winter too except for today, fired up the out door stove (forced air) and have smoke coming in the house.
Checked it out and there`s a crank in the inner barrel, can`t get my welder to it so had to call a welder with a portable said he could do it Sunday or Monday.
Never ends.

I`d need two things, a 50 yard cord and a midget to crawl inside and weld it.

79°F, bright and sunny with a slight off shore breeze.

I guess it's not really too early to post my annual Christmas time photo.

ONCE AGAIN I'M WITH PITCHY. I LOVE SNOW. I like plowing it, driving in it, watching the dogs play in it and most of all....watching the unprepared, non-driving axxhats around here try to drive in it, like it's the first time EVER.HEY PEOPLE ITS PENNSYLVANIA..SNOWS EVERY YEAR! I truly believe we could control the population just by sending most eastern Pennsylvanians (Sixgun excluded) to Montana for a winter...but then Montana would have to deal with all those really fat bears.
a Pennsylvanian who has been accused of clinging to my religion and my guns......Good assessment skills.

When I lived in Trinidad CO, attending the gunsmith program and it snowed they just plowed it to the center of the road, usually melted in a few days since it's so dry out there.
Thanksgiving my first year I was the last person to get on I25, state police closed the interstate behind me because of the blizzard. I went to a buddies place in Colorado Springsfor the weekend. 120 miles away took me about 3&1/2 hours.
I'm with ya Fordwannabe, if ya can't handle driving in a little snow -STAY INSIDE!

Looks pretty cool Pitchy.........well, you know, the first couple of snows are great and then it gets "old".

"The Gunny" drove up from North Carolina today and we shot lots of guns in T-shirts at the gunclub.

I'd say that snow means it time to break out the Wild Turkey 101. :D -----6
