"An Open Letter to NFL's American Flag Protesters"

Post by Old No7 »

I can't take the credit for this, but I'll sure as heck post it here for others to see.

Addressed to the NFL American flag protesters -

Take a little trip to Valley Forge in January. If you don't know where that is, just Google it from the sidelines. Hold a musket ball in your fingers and imagine it piercing your flesh and breaking a bone or two. There won't be a doctor or trainer to assist you until after the battle, so just wait your turn.Take your cleats and socks off to get a real experience. Then take a knee.

Then, take one at the beach in Normandy where man after American man stormed the beach, even as the one in front of him was shot to pieces... the very sea stained with American blood. The only blockers most had were the dead bodies in front of them, riddled with bullets from enemy fire.

Take a knee in the sweat soaked jungles of Vietnam. from Khe San to Saigon... Anywhere will do. Americans died in all those jungles. There was no playbook that told them what was next, but they knew what flag they represented. When they came home, they were protested as well... and spit on for reasons only cowards know.

Take another knee in the blood drenched sands of Fallujah in 110 degree heat. Wear your Kevlar helmet and battle dress. Your number won't be printed on it unless your number is up! You'll need to stay hydrated but there won't be anyone to squirt Gatorade into your mouth. You're on your own.

There's a lot of places to take a knee. Americans have given their lives all over the world. When you use the banner under which they fought as a source for your displeasure, you dishonor the memories of those who bled for the very freedoms you have. That's what the red stripes mean. It represents the blood of those who spilled a sea of it defending your liberty.

While you're on your knee, pray for those that came before you, not on a manicured lawn striped and printed with numbers to announce every inch of ground taken... but on nameless hills and bloodied beaches and sweltering forests and bitter cold mountains... every inch marked by an American life lost serving that flag you choose to protest.

No cheerleaders, no announcers, no coaches, no fans... just American men and women... delivering the real fight against those who chose to harm us... blazing a path so you would have the right to "take a knee."

You haven't an inkling what it took to get you where you are... but your "protest" is duly noted. Not only is it disgraceful to a nation of real heroes, it serves the purpose of pointing to your ingratitude for those who chose to defend you under that banner that will still wave long after your jersey is retired... (Author not acknowledged)

If I have ruffled any feathers with this post TOUGH.

It's just the way it has always been AND should continue to be, RESPECT for the FLAG representing YOUR COUNTRY and the brave souls that have given it all to protect it.

With all due respect.

It's difficult to shame a man with facts that he probably knows nothing about, other than what he learned to look down upon in "college".

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

I used to watch football to take a break from politics, and in general real life. Well the bastages ruined that, so for the last two weeks I just did stuff around the house. The engine bay in my Mustang is clean and sparkling. The frame on my superduty has been simple greened, wire brushed, rust reformed and painted( well the inside and outside of the passenger side and all areas accessible from the wheel wells), and I replaced a light fixture in the hall. Phoney on the multi-millionaires saying how bad it is. There will be more football games this weekend......and I have another frame rail left. Ha!

According to the e-mail I got from my uncle, Ted Nugent is the author of that!

I haven't been able to confirm this, but it does sound like something he'd write!!!

Yes. That was me - in our country's uniform, I was spit on at the San Francisco airport (Burlingame) as I took Emergency Leave from the jungles to bury my brother, a college student killed in a car accident. And the skinny little long haired punk would have been easy to "talk to;" but the UCMJ and a security clearance got in my way. I remember how I wasn't upset too much about the spit; but I was deeply angered by that useless maggot's disrespect of the uniform that represents our country. After visiting the Fresno State (now Univ of Calif at Fresno) campus during that leave to see some of my brother's friends and witnessing what they were saying about us soldiers, I found it hard to be enthused about risking my life for my country's former values. I was frankly demoralized by the apparent national majority of hippies and Leftists back home. In fact, I left my intended Army career after my 4 years was up.

These days, the Liberal types can still commit outrages because of our country's warped "PC" culture.

This latest national outrage by our "honored" athletes is a major hot button for me, and no doubt for other vets and cops. It is time for a change, all right.

I'm a few miles down the road from Valley Forge...it's just a bleak woods that our guys froze up in......revolutionary soldiers are buried up the street from here. Like all soldiers they were just kids who never experienced real life.

Died so we can enjoy a comfy life. I've had it with these unpatriotic and unappreciative leftists. The division is so far apart I don't ever see it coming together in my lifetime.----6
