New Ruger / Talo gun.......

Post by jengel »

I just saw on the dealer side of Lipseys that Talo is doing the Ruger Old Army models again.
#1405 Old Army .45 Blackpowder, blued, fixed sights 7.5" barrel, wood grips.
#1411 Old Army .45 Blackpowder, blued, fixed sights 5.5" barrel, wood grips.
#1401 Old Army .45 Blackpowder, blued, adjustable sights 7.5" barrel, wood grips.
#1406 Old Army .45 Blackpowder, stainless, fixed sights 7.5" barrel, wood grips.

They should be fairly pricey at around $1050 street price. MSRP is $1269.
Just thought I would let ya'll know.

Thanks for the head's-up - I've a pard that's been looking for a 5-1/2" to complete his collection of ROA's.

Thanks to Blaine, I have a replacement for my old 7" SS ROA.

What I still kick myself over is not buying a pair of SS 4.5" Fixed Sight/CAS ROAs when they were available.

I had a Bowen .50 ROA for a while, but, on the whole and as gorgeous as it was, I regretted doing it the minute ROAs went off the market.

But would I drop a grand on one today?

Not so much.

I agree, the price is way too much for most people to shell out. If they would be sold for around $700 - $800, then I think they would be more appealing to the consumer.

Way over priced. As nice as ROA's are, I still prefer 1860 Colt or 1858 Remington repros. I enjoy the slower pace of shooting BP. and the cost of the repros lets me own two to three for the cost of one of the new ROA's
