Drag saw wood pile

Post by Pitchy »

Fellars wife and I are pretty proud of our winter wood pile, it was all sawed from trees we cut and sawed on our home made drag saw.

Forgive the wrong side up picture, can`t edit on postimage.

Well that makes my meager little wood pile look sick but then we don't get such cold winters in the south of England....
I still enjoy cutting firewood especially when it's free. :D
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

Drag saw or not, that's a lot of work! You guys have done well. Tell Norma I'm impressed, as I know she helped you buddy.
Now crank up that Harley and take a little ride!

Thanks bud, it didn`t seem like as much work using the drag saw.
Good to be done though. :)

I'm reminded of the old Indian method of predicting the harshness of the winter: "Watch the white men's wood piles".
I hope you are wrong. :)

Ya could be right, I`ve had a feeling there`s a reason why we put up so much other than using the drag saw. :)

I have not seen a pile that big since I was a kid!
I guess you will be nice and cozy this winter!

Now that's a woodpile to be envious of. The loggers are just finishing up cutting my 100 acres of hardwood so there will be plenty of tops to cut up for years to come. They'll probably just mostly rot 'cause no one wants to put enough work into cutting it up for firewood and I sure can't use up that much. Maybe I can get someone to cut it on shares so I don't have to do anything but put it in the stove.
