It's About Time

#1 Post by jeepnik » Wed Sep 06, 2017 1:15 pm

I've held off on bringing this up but I'm down to the wire so here it goes.

Tomorrow at about 0700 hrs the surgeon is going to open me up, replace a heart valve and bypass three arteries.

Obviously, I won't be online for a bit. I appreciate any good thoughts you can send my way.

Thanks

Jeepnik, back on 1/5 they flipped the switch on me, opened me up, pulled out my left kidney along with two gigantic malignant tumors, glued me back together and woke me up. The whole thing took about 5 seconds (to me). I hope and pray your recovery and results will be as comfortable, quick and satisfying as mine has been. See ya back here in a few...

Good Luck to you..........

And me..................

If it's any consolation, you're not alone - I'm going in @ 0600 tomorrow so my surgeon can bypass 5 heart artery blockages.

Good luck Pete. We should be back up and running in no time. Let's see who gets on line first (discounting your time difference headstart

Yesterday a girl in green put drops in my eyes various times, leading them to feel like they were going to pop out. Then a sweet lady in white took some kind of lens, covered it with some kind of gel and stuck it in my eye and had me place my head and chin in some kind of frame. She said "You'll feel a slight peck to your eye. Look down at that light to the left." I did. When she peeled me off the ceiling (yeah, I've got a BAD flinch) she did it 8 more times, then in the other eye five times. All that to say, my experience was nothing compared to what you guys are going up against. May the Good Lord bless you both, guide your doctors' hands and grant you a quick recovery!

Best wishes Guys!! My mom just got home from surgery to repair a heart valve and she's already looking better than she has for some time.

Good Luck, lad!

You'll be fine.... my mother had all of that done, and another valve repaired.
She went into the hospital feeling poorly and woke up 7 or 8 hours later with
all of that work under the hood.

I'll tell you what I told her: Make sure you get the free oil change with all of that! :o

Seriously, you'll be fine. But DO what they tell you to do for diet, therapy, and recuperation.
To the letter. You've got a new lease on life - make it count! :D

Prayers up.
And for all of us, not just the younger guys, watch your weight and minimize the stuff that is bad for your health. I have lost almost 10 percent my body weight in the last 5 months. I have cut my blood pressure down to 120 over 80 and my blood sugar is down to around 90 every morning. I am feeling a lot better.

Prayers up for you. I had two vessels and an ablation done 4 weeks ago and I'm almost back to normal except every thing tastes terrible. But that's OK since I need to lose about 80 lbs. Learn to hug that pillow when you need to cough and I suggest just passing on a sneeze if you can. The opiods plug you up so you will need to take stool softeners too. NO straining.

It also helps to use Miralax in addition to the docusate stool softener. Opioids can make some people have quite serious issues with constipation. Others may not have it too bad.
