I found this on Fox News site, thought it was kind of humorous and at the same time a sad thing.

Witness or not...?
BROWN LABS MATTER !!
Re: Witness or not...?
Sounds like the Parrot was a witness. As smart as most parrots are, it was probably pretty traumatized by the situation and is replaying it verbally to try to handle the emotional overload.

Well I guess if you are ever begging for your life, keep repeating the name of your attacker, just in case there's a parrot nearby...

Re: Witness or not...?
A parrot as a witness. I had a friend with a parrot. If you said where's the kitty, the bird called the cat. I took care of the bird for a month and whenever I said Where's the kitty I continued the kitty's dead. Boy did I catch it from his wife when they got home. Parrots parrot. They do not know what they are saying and cannot bear witness, even if they understood what that meant.

Re: Witness or not...?
The title of the article is misleading. The article goes on to say the prosecution team was not allowed to use the bird's vocals. She was convicted anyway. I do believe the parrot is repeating what he heard as a tramautic event he witnessed though.
Re: Witness or not...?
If the bird can stand up to cross-examination, it's testimony should be allowed.
If it cannot, the prosecuting attorney should be dis-barred.
