Moving On

Post by Grizz »

Countdown is on. Going to Alaska in the morning. Love SE Alaska. Will be there a while, if the WX is benign and allows for lots of home improvments. I can stay as long as it's good going. Two of my children, and a grandchild, and later a couple more grand children will be enjoying the spot where their Dad grew up. It will be a deja view all over again. So blessed.

There will probably be some fresh salmon. Fresh crab. And some fresh venison we can subsist on. So blessed.

Then Fall time I can sail brave little Ariel around Puget Sound. Have in mind to tie up to the Foss museum dock in Tacoma, and perhaps a trip down to Olympia. Lots of little coves and camping spots far far from the madding crowd.

And I still have a couple of other project boats that want finished and used.

As far as shooting sport, son is bringing a levergun and wheel gun, I have a shottie that lives there, and maybe a punto dos dos for the kiddies. The main plan is to put new pilings under the house and shore up the weak corners for another installment of rehab next year, LORD willing.

Basic plan there is to sail Ariel up...,

(when I say "sail" I mean motor-sail, which means augmenting the sails with the engine, and augmenting the engine with the sails, to get the best VMG I can),

but leave a couple months earlier, as soon as the wx allows, and before it turns to NWesterlies. She wants to get the distance in because the skipper does nice things to her that help her strut her stuff. And she really really really wants to sail to Japan via Hawaii. She's working on me about that.

Just kinda blocking it out. There's a Christmas-in-Tejas trip again, according to the recreational activities Director.

I Hope all the rest of you all have such full lives with loving families and lots of outdoor stuff to do. We are so blessed, are we not?

The village I am going to needs to hear the Goodest Good News, so prayers for opportunities are coveted and appreciated. Sometimes I get so busy I forget what I'm supposed to be doing.

Thanks All,
