I only hunt deer with my 71 Winchester, I have not had to take a 200yd shot yet but I would not hesitate if I needed to, how about you ?

It will do it to be sure - as long as you can hit it with the first round! Just so you know - in our camp on opening day, a miss will cost you $50 to the kitty. So you'd better be proficient with that rifle!

I did it at that distance with my Model 14 in 35 Remington. It was a standing broadside shot. For that kind of set up, don't hesitate if you shoot the rifle well.

My 86 in 45-90 is a 200 yard rifle. It uses 300 grain bullets, (slow twist rifling) and 34 grains of 5744 so with it's open sight regulated for 100 yards and the tang adjusted for 200, it's just a matter of flipping the tang up when needed. Works very well.

Heck, my ML is good for 200. It's a 50 cal Hawken look a like with a 2 1/2X Weaver topping a Green Mountain barrel. I load 90 grains of ffg and a 200 grain 44 cal XTP in a plastic sabot. The load is so tight that I carry damp patches to wipe before reloading.

I regularly practice at 200 yards with my vintage Winchesters and tang sights. Calibers I shoot at 200 yards are 44-40, 38-55, 45-70, 30-30. Your 348 will easily be effective at 200 yards. Practice makes perfect ... resting, leaning against a tree, or offhand.

A GOOD SHOOT could probably stretch it to 300 yards. The GREAT old .348 WCF is certainly up to it.

It is a 250 yard gun without a doubt. I am positive with better shooters than me, you could go 350.

I don't practice shots that long with my M71, so my response is no, I wouldn't take that shot.
Where I hunt there's pretty much ZERO chance of seeing a deer 200 yds away so I don't work on those shots at the range.
If you hunt where shots that long are commonly available, I hope you'll take the advice offered here and practice them before risking wounding and losing an animal.

My carbine hasn't been shot much and is accurate enough that I'm comfortable with it out to 200 yards if the deer isn't moving.
