Marlin 336 ER 356 worth?

Post by Thunder50 »

Thinking of getting rid of my Marlin 336ER in 356 Win. Probably about 90% or a bit better. Wondering what they are worth nowadays. Anyone have a good idea on the value?
Thanks

It looks like one sold on gunbroker for $950 a couple of months ago. That was the only sale that showed in my search there...

All the ones I have looked at seemed to start no lower than $800. Not many made so they seem to bring a decent premium, even the Winchester Big Bore's chambered in 356 Win are hard to come by.

Unfired with box examples have sold for $1200- $1400. Shooters with no box will usually bring at least $800.

I could be very wrong but seems to me total production of the 336ER in 356 was less then 2,000 I am thinking it was closer to 1,300 but I could very well be wrong .Anyway I had a pair of them once upon a time . Sold them in 2009 or 2010 and seems to me I got $750 for one and about $850 for the nicer one . And again that was s good 7 or 8 years ago .

I believe it was actually a little over 2400. Still, not a common firearm.

I sold one of mine at a lgs maybe 5 yrs ago for $825...Wasn't on the market long,& wouldn't sell my last one for that or a good bit more... Would trade and include some brass and a few greenspans for an equal condition 338 Marlin,though.................. Nate

Sold mine for 800? last summer. No wear or damage. No optics included. It took about two months as I recall.
