I will never understand...

Post by Walker »

I lost friends in military service and good friends since then. Dealt with that. My nephew decided one day short of turning 29 that no one could help him. Smart kid, wicked sense of humor, probably the one member of his generation that I really liked being with. I know better than to try to guess what was going through his head. I just don't get why he felt so isolated in his choice to live or not, last Sunday.

Very tough. No understanding why in many cases. Feeling of loss of control is cited. It fits a few friends and aquaintences I have known who chose that path.

I'm sorry for your loss. I don't have any words to help. I'll be praying for understanding.

That affliction hit my wife's family too...

Decades later, she still has the same questions... More inner peace perhaps, which came over time; but she still has very few if any answers...

Prayers up for his soul and you and the family.

Prayers that the family will heal. It is an act of desperation and loneliness most times.

Sorry for your loss. I lost a very good old friend many years ago. Never a mention of any troubles, and no health issues. Just decided to end things, with no regard for those who loved him. I wondered for a long time, but finally decided I'd never know.

Prayers to relieve the pain of your loss.

I've been near two people that have ended their lives, and it's still nearly impossible to understand why one would go to such drastic action. Hopelessness and pain play a large part. My BIL had throat cancer. The VA wasn't doing him much good. He felt his options were a slow painful death or suicide. He chose suicide. Guilt also can be a factor leading to ending one's life. A relative's husband had molested his daughter. Guilt drove him to suicide...

Neither of these two men had a place in their heart for Jesus...

Prayers and condolences for you and your extended family.

Dealing with suicide is a lifetime ordeal. That's how I lost my father 36 years ago. It will never truly make sense, because it is always a senseless act. Even if one understands the reasons and all the mitigating circumstances, it is still so senseless.

I hope you and yours find healing in the days and weeks to come.

Sorry to hear this Walker. A lot of ugly in this world. Faith in Jesus is the only hope we've got - and the best hope there is. God bless and take care my friend.

My cousin had a son a little younger do the same thing. It nearly killed his mother, I think from feeling she was guilty some how. Its sad that people feel there is no other way to go. We'll remember you in prayer.
