Some of your counties are slacking...

About 53,000 guns purchased per day nationwide, per 3,144 counties - is about 16 guns per county per day.

Now I know some counties in rural areas may not have gun stores, but even in the rural areas I frequent, there are gun stores. I can't imagine our county would only sell 16 guns a day - we have at least eight gun dealers, and a couple probably only sell a gun or two a week, but one of them pretty much always has someone at the counter filling out a 4473, all day long...they probably sell at least 16 every day - maybe twice that.

I'm trying to do my part. Bought my Ruger Blackhawk Hunter last month and now have my sights set on a new 12ga autoloader for waterfowl season...either the Mossberg 935 or the Remington Versa-Max.

After shooting my buddies autoloader during a goose hunt last year, I'm finding it difficult to return to my trusty Mossberg 500 pump gun with magnum loads.
Some people just need a sympathetic pat on the head.....with a hammer. Repeatedly.

Although it isn't exactly an upland bird gun, I bought a Saiga as my first autoloading shotgun, and love it...!

I am reasonably sure my county is on the high side compared to many others... :D

I believe we have one (1) gun store in my county. There was a pawn shop too for a while, but he closed up after about 3 years. There are undoubtedly a few home based FFL's too, but one I know from the weekly card game lives in the next county (I live right on the county line).

This county basically has one place that could be called a city, though its a town by most standards - maybe 8k residents, plus maybe as many more in the surrounding unincorporated areas and part time residents (vacation town really).
