A HUGE Surprise Gift

Post by Blaine »

One of my best Buddys, and I went on a traipse across the Old Naches Trail forest road from Greenwater to almost Naches, WA. A really nice route on a rugged road/trail.
Anyway, we stopped to pop off a few rounds. I wanted to try the new Springer 9mm 1911. I only put about 30 through it, but it went bang every time, and I'll need to sight it in a little better. It's still not quite on the money.

The surprise was when he got out his Henry Golden Boy .357. I had been wanting to shoot it. After I put a couple dozen thru it, he said "Happy Birthday", and gave it to me....

While somewhat common back in the day, friends like that are hard to come by in today's culture where it seems everyone is out to enrich their own hides.

Now....go buy that dude a Havana cigar, a bottle of Jack and help him drink it.-----6

A friend who had hardly any money managed to save up to buy me a Ruger Redhawk when I graduated from medical school. It was not only a great and thoughtful gift in and of itself, but was kind of a nice contrast to some of the 'medical-school-nurd' atmosphere of the graduation party. A few classmates were impressed, but some were.....shocked....

Blaine,
I knew it! Cancers think too much. :D Crown Royal? Blue bag or gray? There ain't nothing like about 5 or 6 shots of Crown Royal in a short glass half full of crushed ice!

Gotta stop thinking about that stuff.....Pennsylvania has "state stores" and they just opened up this mega store about 3 miles down the road. My wife always tells me, "you better not be making a left out of the driveway". So........I make a right, then two more rights, then a left and I come out about right where I want to be.....right in front of the State Store. :D ------6

Dang..-almost retired.....something tells me the employees at the State Store are gonna know me by my first name. :D
