My New Toy Came In Today

Post by Blaine »

I know, I swore I didn't need any new guns....but

Springfield Range Officer 1911, 5", 9mm

Just like the .45acp, except scaled down a hair for the smaller 9mm
(I don't know why the waste money on those plasctic holsters, and mag carriers   )

I'll show some actual pics when I go shoot it later this week, but for now, it looks exactly like this:

Cool!
My dad has one. Really likes it, especially after a good trigger job. I didn't think it was necessary but he did.

That's the prettiest Glock I ever seen Blaine.

Congratulations! I've heard a 9mm 1911 is one sweet shooter.

.

Now,after all these years, you can switch your logon name to "Two-gun TTT". . ;)

They ARE, by the way, nicely-setup 1911's.

Well Blain, you done planted a seed! 9mm has become a favorite round of mine, both reloading and shooting since I got my Ruger LC9s-Pro (Plus I have 2 others and 967 cases I can reload!). I also have an RIA 1911 in 45 ACP that I really like, so perhaps a 9mm in a 1911? Looking real good!

I really wish they had those LC9s-Pro when I got my LCP several years ago....right now, I really can justify the expense of another EDC, as I have three perfectly good ones: AirWeight, LCP and a little mousegun 317 AirLite.....

I watched Hickok 45's video on the Pro model Ruger. I can't see giving up six rounds. The XDsc conceals well. I often carry it under a tee and it doesn't print if I remember to slide it toward the zipper when standing . . .

XDsc9 has about the same profile/size as the LC9, with twice the ammo onboard. And the 1911ish grip safety. I carry LCP as primary backup, and add a gun or two depending on the ops plan. The Ruger is lighter until you add in the spare mag and ammo . . .

Another way to look at it is the LC9 with a mag change is equal weight and capacity to the XDsc with the stock magazine.

I'm liking your 9mm 1911 Blaine. Looks like a terrific shooter.

That's nice, I want one to. I also fondled a 45 PitBull last weekend, he also had the 9mm Pitbull too.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!
