After my Lyman 66 broke a third time...

Post by Tycer »

My 1886 EL Miroku has broken my Lyman 66 a third time. Anybody want a free aperture sight? It bent the block loose twice and then one of the target knobs took flight. Found the knob and plate so it's all there. The base to elevator fit is too tight - I pinched it with pliers a couple of years ago. Nothing a file won't cure.

I ordered a Providence Pattern 21 sight tonight. https://762precision.wordpress.com/prod ... -21-sight/
Kind regards,
Tycer

Haven't heard of that happening before. I've got a couple of lighter recoiling rifles it could go on. That pattern 21 sight should be bullet proof.

I had a Lyman sight come apart while I was on the line shooting a match. A few small parts were lost and that was the last Lyman aperture sight I ever bought.

No trouble with the Williams sights though.
