Just When Do Rats Leave a Sinking Ship ?

Post by Pete44ru »

.

Remington, owner of Marlin, has had it's bond rating lowered substantially:

http://www.guns.com/2015/11/23/moodys-d ... f-default/

"Remington’s rating went from B2 to a Caa1, meaning the company is now a “poor quality” investment and poses a “very high credit risk,” according to Moody’s report issued Nov. 19."

With guns, and ammo having been flying off the shelves for years, you have to wonder WTH is with management that they can't turn a healthy profit.

They're doing something very wrong with the funds, that's for sure.

Mortgage the company, strip all the assets, convert to cash and pocket it. Leave an empty shell with all the debt and move to a tax friendly country.

I worked for a guy that did this. He "bought" a lot of equipment on credit, hired people (very good pay), arranged a bunch of jobs (got big deposits), did a half-gassed job, didn't pay income taxes, and filed for bankruptcy, kept the deposits and sold off some of the equipment. Did all this within 4 or 5 months. He did this three times in CA under different company names.

Another MBA at work. One of the dumbest things ever created was an MBA degree. They've ruined more companies than any recession. All they understand is acquisition, diversification, reducing overhead and bonuses.

The poor credit rating may reflect potential future legal liabilities more so that profit and loss.
