Anybody recongnize this.

Post by firefuzz »

I believe:

That to have a friend, a man must be one.
That all men are created equal and that everyone has within himself the power to make this a better world.
That God put the firewood there, but that every man must gather and light it himself.
In being prepared physically, mentally, and morally to fight when necessary for what is right.
That a man should make the most of what equipment he has.
That 'this government of the people, by the people, and for the people' shall live always.
That men should live by the rule of what is best for the greatest number.
That sooner or later...somewhere...somehow...we must settle with the world and make payment for what we have taken.
That all things change but truth, and that truth alone, lives on forever.
In my Creator, my country, my fellow man.

Kuddo's to the first to properly identify who said this.

It would appear that the first line is taken from Proverbs 18:24 " A man that hath friends must show himself friendly, and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
JerryB II Corinthians 3:17, Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

That men should live by the rule of what is best for the greatest number
That doesn't seem like it jibes with the Bill of Rights....(Or, maybe I'm reading too much into it)

The Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, and every 30 minute and hour western show on TV was what was on at my house. I used to sit with my six guns and Mattel lever gun and help them all shoot up the bad guys. I've got every show of Cheyenne, Laredo, and The High Chaparral on my DVR right now and just started recording Laramie, Daniel Boone, and The Big Valley. My son in law is going to move them over to an outside hard drive for me this weekend.

It's truly a shame that prime time shows don't try and pass on a good moral story anymore. When my grandkids are over I always try and watch at least one of these shows with them.
