What was the #1 song on your Birthday?

Post by Old Ironsights »

http://playback.fm/birthday-song

Mine was "To Sir With Love" by Lulu - from the film of the same name.

It was also the #1 Single for the entire year... and held the #1 daily for over a month.

(On September 3rd, 1967 the song "To Sir With Love" by Lulu entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #74; and on October 15th it peaked at #1 (for 5 weeks) and spent 17 weeks on the Top 100 (and for 9 of those 17 weeks it was on the Top 10)... That's not all. 'To Sir With Love' shot to the very top of the American Singles Chart to give Lulu a unique distinction in International showbusiness.

She was the only non- American female singer- ever to have topped the US Singles Chart for five weeks, and at that time only one of five British (well, Scot, really) female singers to have topped the chart.)

The Wife's is the "Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet" by Henry Mancini.

Destined for Schmaltz...

Maybe more pertinent would be "What was the number one song nine months before you were born...???" :D

"Moonlight Cocktail" by Glenn Miller and His Orchestra

"My Sister and I" by Jimmy Dorsey and His Orchestra. #1 song on conception date 9 months earlier. Now that's really too weird.

#1 Song on my b-day is or was Auf Wiederseh'n Sweetheart by Vera Lynn. I'm not sure I've ever heard it.

#1 song on my conception day was Cold, Cold Heart by Tony Bennett.

No wonder I'm a mess, the music stinks ..... barf.

The only song my Mother sang that wasn't from a Church Hymnal was Rock'n Roll Waltz by Kay Starr. I still hate that song.
