A bang to the head, crushed nuts and crows!

Post by Nath »

Staggered out this AM in the thick fog to check for more fox.

Ended up with three crows down. I like fog for sneaking up on crows.

Last night however it left me with a sore head! The bad fall that is!

After taking my wife out for the afternoon, on our return I popped out for the last two hours of light. On climbing a style the bottom rung broke! Next thing I knew I was flat on top of my rifle, of which smacked me across the back of my head so hard it nearly knocked me out!

It also had the charming effect of ramming my right testicle somewhere up under my right arm pit! Or so it feels!!

So lets recap.

In March I lost my job.

Got a new job.

Third week at new job lose time due to flue.

Crack my skull yesterday and performed half a castration on myself all at once!

So pretty fed up all around then!

After cleaning the gun of soft clay like mud, zero checked out fine so that's good.

The pictures.

Wow!, sorry to hear about your run of bad luck.. :( I hope things pick up now Spring is here.
I too like shooting in the fog, them old crows could not use their super vision to stay out of harms way..
Oh and be careful how you sit down for a few hours...
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

Nath, if you hook your right ear up to a 5 HP air compressor, you should be able to blast that testicle back to the factory standard position. Don't start with max pressure, but work your way up in .3 HP increments, utilizing all safety precautions... 8)

I hesitated to scroll down through the photos in case there was one of your injured wedding tackle!
All my self-harming incidents have been gun related. Last one was when I was putting the guns away in the loft. I took a step back, forgetting I was on a ladder, and woke up in an ambulance on the way to A&E.
Hope things get better for you in the near future.

Sounds like you have taken a few punches lately and you are still standing. I was going to say, you seem to always land on your feet , but that does not seem to be the case. Use plenty of ice to keep the swelling down on both ends. :)

Shooting in fog brought up an old memory. I was probably 15 or 16. Deer season, and dad and I were out for our yearly hunt. We would usually wake early and move to a predetermined spot to start the day. One morning, just after we got to where we wanted to start the day, the fog dropped.

At first is wasn't too bad, but then it really got thick. So, we decided to sit it out. A few hours later it started to lift. Across the meadow, we spotted a pretty good buck. It was feeding. We figured it thought itself safe with the poor visibility. I was going to take the shot but dad stopped me. Then I figured it out (after many years, well, many for a teenager) he was enforcing one of the rules. Know what's behind your target.

I feel for you brother. Once while dove hunting a climbed over an electric cattle fence and in the process electrocuted my nuts which sent me flying. :o
Fortunately I had slid my shotgun under the fence before the crossing so no damage to the gun just to my ego. I lied there for a couple minutes in shock then caught my second wind and continued hunting no worse for wear. Ah the days of my youth...

Nath, I hope you've used up all your bad luck for the year so you can enjoy the rest of it!

We all make our own luck.

As for your nuts, get yourself a quart of cucumber oil and soak those babies overnight, applying heat from a hair dryer. In the morning, check to see if they are red, and if so, get a 32 ounce ball peen hammer and smack em real smartly. This will make em swell up to the size of a grapefruit and when the ladies see the huge bulge in your pants, they will offer to rub em down.-----6

Glad to hear the rifle and zero are ok! Looks to be a stout set of rings. As for the ball; as I was told: "That's why God gave you 2."

And whatever doesn't kill you might make you walk in circles... :D
