Post by sore shoulder »

ATF director says any 5.56 round threatens police safety. CA dem senator is going to broaden bill to affect more types of AP ammo.

Griff is on it. The only ones left are the libs and that is all they know how to say. Go to a range around here and you will see a lot of young Asians and HIspanics with ARs. Little political cross problem for the libs.

In this case, I think theyve gone from "Lets try something hard, maybe we can do it" to "Lets try something that will get EVERYONE PO'd at us and make us look retarded!"

Not that I'm in favor of ignoring them, but they are acting really dumb about this.

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?

I would not get too overconfident. I can remember Shooters saying that the Gun Control Act of 1968, the Brady Bill, the California and Federal Assault Weapons Bills, and Washington's I 594 "will never pass".

Some thing I have been thinking about the last few days: I was in college back in 1968 and the civil riots, police shootings, the bombings and arson fires of public buildings, etc., of previous years gave birth to the Gun Control Act of 1968....

Yep. . . . . all they need is a suitable 'crisis' with which to panic the sheeple, and a 'news' media to fan the flames of hysteria. They're masters of both those things, even though they are otherwise imbeciles.

When those two Police got shot in Ferguson a couple days ago, the first thing I thought of was I'll bet it's 5.56.....

Those events probably helped push it through. But, the 1963 kennedy assassination had more to do with it than any of the other factors.
The libs were all upset that the rifle used by Oswald was mail ordered across state lines no FFL needed. Once the GCA 1968 passed that all changed.

I hope the response to this is more aggressive than to the M855 ban, it needs to be, it's much more serious. The comments I've been reading from head of ATF are very bothersome. Many comments I'm reading from anyone involved in this are addressing a a group/type of ammunition, not just M855. They admit they were just testing the waters with the M855 ban. This is definitely not a "no starter" as suggested earlier, this is a serious frontal attack on an entire class of ammo that could easily include any deer rifle round etc that can penetrate soft body armor, and the M855 ban was just a probe.

Talk to your Congressman. Take a pro-active role. Just as with 'Fast-N-Furious, no it ain't above this administration to engineer events that lend credence to their posturing. It was Congressmen that pushed back at the ATF to get them to withdraw

The "non-starter" comment was in response to the OP, which was a link to an article about the communist politicians saying they were going to introduce legislation on ammo bans... not what the bureaucrats were attempting.

I was the OP who posted that link. The commie politicians and the bureaucrats are working hand in hand with each other and the media, it's obvious by the similar rhetoric each is using. I'm seeing several articles recently claiming there are less gun owners, gun ownership lagging, minimizing the number of owners and number of those protesting the ammo ban as "a few" etc.

Then the Goblin was just shooting into the crowd, and hoping. Too bad he didn't hit thugs. Or, maybe he tried to hit Thugs, and hope it was blamed on cops? Thugs just can't be trusted.

Blaine, I have to wonder about that. Hitting one officer with that scenario I could buy, but making one head shot and one upper torso is not luck, it's marksmanship.
