Can anyone ID this 5.56 ammo

I have a quantity of 5.56 marked LC 92 with a cross within a circle it is painted greenish yellow. it has been iside an ammo can since I picked it up many years ago.
I have some green tip and I do not believe that is what it is...I fired off a round tonight and it is nor tracer/

LC = Lake City. 92 = 1992 year manufacture. Cross and circle means it's NATO. Which means it should be M855 or SS109. Have you tried a magnet on the bullet?

sore shoulder, the tip is slightly magnetic.
I fired off a round and didn't get anything but a large muzzle flash....no tracer, no starburst.

Tracer is red or orange tip, and usually will just barely ignite inside 25m or so.

IF it's magnetic its m855 with a bad paint job.
