Some interesting history for sale
This is something you don't see up for sale every day. If it really is the real deal, then it was once, perhaps, the most prized object in the western world.
This and more are going on the block.

This caught my eye, but I'd need to eat and buy gas for the next several months.

Your eye is a lot different that mine. That might be the last thing that would catch mine. Barrels that short are like rifles with sub 24" barrels. Uninteresting to me.

I bet it is the real deal....you figure, after the war there were probably a mess of those floating around.
Besides, I don't think there are too many people who could make it look like the real deal.
Even if someone bought it, its not as if they could contact Rommel or Himmler with it.
Personally, Id rather have that Stevens single shot-----6

Seriously... I think one of those would be easily hid under a vest, or sport coat.... Makes a bigger hole than most of the .38s that are that size....

I'll take the Gatling gun. Perfect anti zombie defense weapon.
Re: Some interesting history for sale
I'd prefer either of the Hepburns followed by the Krag, though the latter may be slightly more valuable. Keith's Mauser is of no interest to me, but would be to others. The side-by might be in the running depending on age and details.

I'll take the North American Arms 1911........because with that, I could sell it and buy all of the others.
Well, maybe not.......but it's not too far away.
I really like Elmer's rifle. That's a rifle where you and your buddy sit down with a quart of fine bourbon on a Saturday night and fondle that baby up.......thinking about the hunts and campfires that rifle went through.----6

Re: Some interesting history for sale
Not me, not with that rifle. I just wasn't a Keith fan and I don't think it does anything. Better a well rode old lever rifle from some no-name guy who just knew how to use it. In fact, that would characterize a large portion of my rifles and the rest are getting to that state as fast as I can carry them...Sixgun wrote: I really like Elmer's rifle. That is nice.... Years ago, when you could still get them, I badly wanted consecutive numbered Ruger Birdshead pair....

Re: Some interesting history for sale
Blaine, the Ruger Vaquero birds heads are available new. They can be found in.45 Colt or .45 ACP
Kentucky Guns had them both a couple weeks ago when I was ordering my Ruger Single Seven.
They had one of those code machines on Pawn Stars a while back. I don't remember if it traded hands or not or the price. It would make a darn good door stop.

Re: Some interesting history for sale
Unfortunately, my budget will not allow much in the way of new toys right now.... I have about 135 bucks in Cabela's Points....I'll save for awhile and find one in the gun library someday.......Chuck 100 yd wrote:Blaine, the Ruger Vaquero birds heads are available new. IIRC, Baldy said they are available because they are widely forged as antiques.

HTAI, but Blaine spot on about the pistol.
