Much less exciting than either of those. I like hunting prairie chickens... among other things.
Re: Hey Superchicken
I found a a new podcast to listen to on my smart phone. The Ride with Allen Taylor is a 3 hour radio show for gearheads. One of the first times I listened to it he talked about going to the Mopar dealer when he was a kid and looking at the Superbirds. Boy that brought back memories.

Great call sign sir. I remember visiting a friend in MO and watching those crazy birds do their dance. Are they tasty? Do you hunt them with dogs?superchicken wrote:Much less exciting than either of those. I like hunting prairie chickens... among other things.

Re: Hey Superchicken
I hunt with a pointing dog, but its not the only way. For me, its a good reason to take my dog and shotgun for a walk on the big prairie. As far as eating goes, they are not the best thing going. I compare them to a skinny, dry duck that is easier to overcook. But with all game meat, the challenge is finding a good way to prepare it. For prairie grouse, I like to bone out the breasts so I can control the cooking a little better and keep them on the rare side. Beyond that it's up to the chef. There's an orange marmalade and ginger glaze, or a bacon and green chile wrap, or... You get the picture. I'm not really into muscle cars or cartoons so I had no idea my username had any other connotations. Cars don't have enough clearance or drive wheels and I dont watch TV.

Re: Hey Superchicken
I remember killing a prairie chicken and watching it bounce just like a football when it hit the ground. You just know that it's gonna be tough.

When I got my driver's license in 1967, I wanted a RoadRunner more than anything. Just a plain jane 383 with a four speed and normal gearing would have done nicely. 18-20mpg if you stayed out of "it", and sub-15 1/4s if you didn't stay out of "it".

I always thought they were about the ugliest car ever made except for Studebakers.
They always remind me of the Bookmobile with that book shelf on the back.

I've pushed a Studebaker coupe to 200 MPH up in northern Maine and I can tell you that they approach aerodynamic perfection right out of the box as well as being one of the best styled cars out of the '50s.
