There is no Federal gun registration. Only a background check

Keep telling yourself nobody is tracking what you bought. If it was only a background check they wouldn't need a serial number or information on the gun.

Dude. Chill. There is no gun registration. Yes, they track everything you buy, guns or not, but there is no registration. Twist it however you want.

If they decide to go door to door, do you really think they will use 4457 forms? Not very efficient since we all trade so much.
No. They will visit all NRA (and other organizations) members. All people who subscribe to any gun magazines. Anyone who has EVER purchased a hunting license. Any former military, cops, firemen...

Get the idea?

Gun registration is what they want, but it's not here yet. If you think it is, go travel abroad with a firearm and open your eyes.

If you have a License To Carry in Texas, you have gone through the check already. Show your L.T.C. and sign for the gun, no call to be made. Ammo does not need a background check, just have to be 18 for shotgun and rifle, 21 for pistol. Same as Federal law.

My M39 Marlin shoots .22 standard velocity shorts so quietly you can hear the hammer drop.

You left out one step. You still fill out the paperwork, even if you have a carry permit.

Yes, filling out the paperwork is signing for it. Two ways of stating half a dozen or 3 pairs.
