Need to clear up a bit of confusion

Back in the "old" days when the American military used American guns they and their accessories and some ammo were made at Springfield Armory ________ or Arsenal ___________ , which? I can never remember that straight.

In the old days Armories made mostly weapons.... Arsenals stored weapons made ammo

Within the Armory site there are buildings designated arsenals which were used to store weapons made in the armory. Below is a photo of the East Arsenal:
