3-½ Days Kalispell, Mt to Portland, OR

Post by Griff »

Goofin' off the whole way! Just wish I didn't have the "pull-toy" along... but I need it once I get to Portland!

Anyone along the way? Coffee's on me! Not sure of my route yet... gonna play it by ear... Computer tells me to take I90 over to Ritzville and down thru Pasco, WA. But... I've been that way a number of times... But, I gotta watch the fuel gauge, as these are all unpaid miles!

I would take 90 to spokane, and drop down 395 to kennewick/old el pasco, then 82 to hermiston and 84 into p-town.

the alternative is drop down 93 from missoula over lost trail pass into idaho and turn west on 26 to 20 into boise
an pick up 84 there. beautiful country until you hit the desert then it's just miles and miles of miles and miles.

when you hit portland there are a few levergunners in the area.
careful what you wish for, you might just get it.

Griff,
I just started a new job last week and tore my right forearm throwing a stump one handed yesterday. Typing is easy, but holding a firearm much less a full glass of water is painful.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

I WOULDN'T come over the Lolo Pass from Missoula into Lewiston, ID with a "pull toy" and a sore arm. It's a truly beautiful ride but LOTS of hairpin turns and no room for mistakes. Looking at the Lochsa River is one thing. Drownin' in it is another....

I'd go 93 to 90, then turn south on 395 to 82 in the Tri-cities, then 82 to 90 and ride 90 all the way into the Rose City. Some decent gunshops in the Tri-City area, if I recall.

Have a good trip and take care of that bent wing!

Pokey, Ritzville is where 395 cuts south off I90. That's the way I went. Be in Troutdale later this am.

jdad, this shouldn't come as a shock, like it did me, but as we age, we should work smarter, not harder! Leave the stump throwin' to younger guys! Now that I'm in my early 30's I tend to just pull on stumps. No matter how dumb a boss he may be! :P :P Heal well my friend.

If you can keep your truck in one piece, that sounds like breakfast if you have time

Probably, I don't know. I'm already down in Tualatin. My son & I traded loads... so he's picking up mine on Tues. and I'm takin' his Monday load. It'll make it easier for me to get back up to Tacoma next Tues.
