It's finally over :)

Post by TX50Cal »

After starting college later in life I am happy to say that the final grade is in and I have completed all requirements for my Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration :) Only took me until age 46 :) Now I'm thinking about an on-line Associate of Science in Firearms Technology degree from Sonoran Desert Institute. Yeah, I'm a glutton for punishment:)

Congratulations. Now, what are you planning to do with the degree? I hope you don't just let that new knowledge sit and vegetate. Vegetation is now the best thing to have inside your head.

Big congratulations! One thing about knowledge, no one can take it from you. I have a masters degree in "The School Of Hard Knocks" when it comes to collecting the old guns and no one pulls the wool over my eyes anymore.----6

Nicely done! Should we refer to you as "professor" now, or maybe just Mr.?

I know the feeling - 13 years after high school graduation, I finally 'emerged' into the workforce, a quarter-million dollars in debt, living in a ghetto apartment, and driving a junker I traded an old generic 1911 for. Then the 'fun' begins when the rest of the world resents you for trying to catch up income-wise with the folks who just went out and 'got a job' after high school... (Hint - don't do the math or you will get depressed; catch-up time even for a primary-care MD is around age 78 or so, vs. starting with a minimum-wage job out of high-school, working the same hours, and getting 'standard cost of living' raises... :( - - - BUT, you will enjoy your life and job and so on quite a bit more, and in the end, that matters more than how many material things your kids have to auction off when you pass... :D )

Congrats on your milestone! My PHD is in the garage, I think leaning in the corner with a coupla shovels....post hole digger...
This is plagiarized from someone else, but I love it!

I was born a gun owner.
It wasn't a choice.
I didn't become one later in life.
I was born this way.

An education at any age is great. Later in years is more difficult in some ways but I have not met anyone who regretted getting a good education at any age. Mine was in the world of hard knocks.
Hey Doc. my step son is where you described but sixteen years after high school and many dollars more in loans. He is an intervention radiologist and enjoys the help he is able to give in his short 14-24 hour day. Many complain about the high cost of education. What is the cost of ignorance?
