Marlin Cross Bolt Safety Removal Kit

Post by MacEntyre »

A few months ago, I sent money to the address on the page for the kit [http://leverguns.com/articles/taylor/c ... afety.htm]

Got no reply. Haven't called... thought I would post something here first. Anyone know if these kits are still available?

I'd like to remove the cross bolt safety from my Marlin 30TK.

I checked just the other day and they have stainless kits in stock but not blued. I put a saddle ring safety delete kit on my SS Guide Gun and like it just fine.

I've used the Beartooth saddle Ring deletes on 2 guns: A Marlin 1895 GS and a Rossi Rio Grande .410.

Tne Rio Grande required Fitting (minimal) and the Marlin dropped in.

All in all a "5 star" product.

Does anyone know if Beartooth anticipates restocking the blue basic safety kits?

I would suspect so .

When I got mine I think they were out of the stainless ones . I would assume in about a month or so they would have more available . If I'm not mistaken they make the replacement parts themselves so it's more a matter of when they remake rather then them getting them from another source .

I just bought 10 cross bolt safety eliminators from Clyde Ludwig (to go with the 5 I already bought since about 2003).

He says he is not going to make them anymore but I think he has a supply left.

Kits are available from:
Clyde Ludwig
PO BOX 318
Bridgewater, SD 57319
Phone 605.729.2029
$9.95 plus $3.00 S&H
(if you order more than one kit, the shipping is still only $3.00)

I sent Clyde money and an order several months ago, but I have heard nothing! Called and left a msg, too.

Do you have an email address for Clyde?

Edit: Thanks for the PM!

Here is the correct information, from Clyde himself:
My address is

P.O. Box 318
Bridgewater, SD 57319

I tried for 2 years to get leverguns.com to up date my contact info with no reply, I still have some on hand.

Thank you, Clyde Ludwig
The address in this link is wrong: http://leverguns.com/articles/taylor/cr ... safety.htm

That's where I sent my payment, thinking that Leverguns.com would be accurate information... silly me!
