Karma drawing, 1911 holster

Post by Chuck 100 yd »

I will draw out of the hat on Fathers Day for this holster that is a good fit for Gov. spec 1911 but a tight fit for my Ruger SR 1911 with Novak sights.
I made this one up just to prove up a pattern I made so I did not do a lot of final smoothing of the edges on this one. Just the same it is a strong and well made holster that will give good service and the price cant be beat.
Post a throw my name in the hat if you want it delivered to your door for FREE! :D

It has been suntanned and oiled but has no retention strap due to it`s prototype beginnings.
I will post a picture of the improved version, I have hanging is the sun now, in a few days.
Good luck.

Yep You will have to put my name in the hat. Do you hang it in the sun before you put leather finish on or after?

BenT , I oil them with Extra Virgin Olive OIL (EVOO) Liberally, Wipe off the excess and hang them in direct sunlight for 3-4 days to get the nice tan. By then everything is nice and dry, and the leather is
not at all soft. I then give them a coat of Skidmore`s leather dressing and buff out to a nice soft glow.
A second coat of Skidmore`s if needed. I don`t like leather that is soft and floppy like some dressings like Neetsfoot or Mink oil can make them (great for shoes and ball gloves but not for holsters).
