Are my eyes deceiving me, or are there little gator clips from the battery hooked up to the rifle??

I think I need to do more of that than I have been doing.
But I have given a lot away recently.

There's an oldtimer who really cared about that rifle, and not to mention the fact those pre-war .22 mausers are not in every gunshop.--------6

That is a sweet 22!

Here I was expecting some rusted old Monty Ward rifle with a busted stock!

I've no doubt the gent made a good choice, you'll take good care of it.

Good on him ! ! . :)

I'd ask on www.rimfirecentral.com about obtaining magazines, since there's quite a few over there with those rifles, and would most likely point you in the right direction.

Excellent gift! But, is the rifle 6 or 12 volts? :P

The guns in very good condition for the most part and I m considering refinishing the stock. The bolt handled has been altered and reshaped to allow use of a scope and the barrel has been drilled and tapped for a long tube target scope. Also the front sight is not original so refinishing the stock won t affect any collectors value as it s mostly gone the way I look at it.The bore is excellent and it loads ,feeds and ejects like a champ. Also the rust bluing on the barrel and action with exception of the muzzle is 100% and doesn t require reblueing though the bolt could be polished to make it shine. It s a shame the gun was altered but back in the day it was it was probably considered just another 22.

That stock is awsome looking as is.
Not so sure other than a few coats of hand rubbed conservators wax
I'd do anything to it.

Up close the stock has scratches bumps and brusies of a gun 80 or so old.

Lucky dog!... Wow, VERY Nice...
I had the MAS 45 trainer assembled by the French from the same Mauser tooling your rifle was made on... It loved bullets in .224 diameter range... If you wind up having a hard time finding a brand that runs in that range, I'm sure Paco's tool would dial you in Perfekt

I'm prevented from recalling what brand I had succses with due to Old timers disease. Sorry about that. Good luck!
